Just discovered the same thing is happening with ebay AU and shopback (see previous post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/462142). Some cheaper items are missing from the search list. Very deceiving and disappointing. However other prices remains similar (no price jacking like with aliexpress affiliate links).

Not tricked, but lets just say you will have less options and wont find the best deal.
Did you forgot about Clear's comment on your previous forum post?
Going through any AliExpress affiliate link (cashback websites) causes a cookie to remove or the change the prices of a lot of cheaper products.
How can you tell? The homepage will be directed to best.aliexpress.com (sometimes) and when you search for products the URL shows aliexpress.com/af instead of aliexpress.com/search (everytime).
The solution? Browse in incognito, make a note or add products to your wishlist before clicking through SB so they won't disappear.
It's something eBay is to be blamed and not Shopback. You seem to have some kind of intention to down Shopback. Why only mention Shopback and not Cashrewards in this and your previous post about Aliexpress?
Because I only use shopback and not cashrewards, so Im unaware if its the same for both.
But you knew any cashback websites causes this change from your previous forum post.
Appropriate title would be "Beware -
ShopBackCashback with eBay Australia - Some Cheaper Priced Items Not Shown!"Go test it out and let us know then!
eBay have an inhouse affiliate network called the eBay Partner Network (EPN). If it's happening for one it most certainly would be happening for the other cashback providers.
It would also be happening when you click out from OzBargain (without being logged in) it would also happen when you click out from any one of the 1500 sites that send eBay traffic through the partner network. All EPN links are built the same regardless of whether they are cashback sites or not. This statement is simply not true and most likely a result of the eBay search algo prioritising listings to the user that it thinks it will be more likely to engage with
@MisterMo: So my statement is true then. It happens to all cashback sites when clicking out as this is what the discussion is about. It will also happen to any of the other 1500 sites… etc
@Clear: Yes, sorry to clarify here I mean OP’s statement is not correct. EPN links do not have any dynamic pricing or dynamic SERP rules attached.
Dont know, all i know is when I used shopback to get on ebay i could not find the exact same item from that seller. Tried it 3 times each with both shopback and without shopback and results were the same. It excluded that particular item (which was the cheapest) from the search list.
On Aliexpress add items to yuor wishlist (not cart) Then click through shopback and purchase.
but now i feel this is a doddgy thing (not saying who, but the whole cashback scheme thing).
we think we save some $ but actually not.
Is this real? They tricked us?
