@cypher67 Electric for convenient?
Where else do you recommend then? I can't find any decent, reliable sites
I bought the electric kit ($300 off Amazon) and built it myself then got a $15 table top from officeworks.
Can you share the one you ordered from Amazon?
How can you buy a separate table? Don't you need to screw?
Can you also share the one you bought from Officeworks?
@netjock: Haha
Its a force of habit, if you can press a button and it goes to the perfect standing height you will be way more inclined to use it. If you need to crank it up and down you will always mentally think its 2 hard. Omnidesk was a good deal, but they are expensive now. I just know the ones from Ikea are poor quality
If your biceps are too big already get an electric :D
Get manual. You might need the difference to feed yourself at some point. It is a war of attrition right now. At the end who is left standing.
I shouldn't be laughing, but it's a realistic point
I didn't want to spend so much on a standing desk. So I got myself a sturdy plastic crate and put that on my desk (24$). The laptop goes on top of that ( with an added height boost with one of those Ikea laptop stands ~8$). Then I got a cheap wireless mouse and keyboard from Kmart

The height of the krate should be ideally 30cms or more for an average sized adult.
When you are done, you can put the krate away and get your normal desk back
Hope this helps save you a few bucks!
Hmm..I should find an alternative because I just found out all standing desks at Ikea are sold out
Thanks for the tip
Electric … but I wouldn't get one from Ikea personally
