Yep just added that to the post. :)

    • can't find the buy button. Also can't see price nor delivery charge. Please help! Thanks!

  • +2

    Cheers OP

  • +2

    thx champ

  • Thanks OP bought one of each before it sold out

  • -4

Expensive toilet paper but got one just in case

    • +9

Yeh it's not the cheapest ever on Amazon but just put it up there in case anyone was looking for it now and still can't get it at their local supermarket.

      • +1

Really don’t understand why there is shortage of supply since all big manufacture claiming they have enough there to support.

        • +4

There isn't a shortage of supply. There's an excess of demand because people are ****s.

          • +1

@AngusD: Not many around in stores now, still no paper on the shelves. I go at 9 and none in anybody's trolley. 4 weeks of emergency seems like a very long for stores still being not adjusted

            • +1

@Laziofogna: They're making the same amount they've always made, which has always been plenty, and people aren't sh*tting any more than they were this time last year, when there was plenty around. The only thing that has changed is people buying more than they used to, and more than they need.

          • @AngusD: That’s true

    • +4

Not expensive when you cant find any in the shops :D

    • +4

…maybe not the cheapest, but even if it's in stock at the local shops anything that reduces my need to physically go there is a good thing. :-)

    • +9

Just like everyone else "buy an extra 1 just in case". It's people with this mentality is the reason why we have a shortage of toilet paper.

      • No it's not.

      • +4

It’s more like “buy an extra 10”

        • my mother in law has 100 rolls at home and she still asked me to get more.

        • This.

  • +1

    Cheers, bought some

  • +2

first time being able to buy toilet paper, just about to run out. thanks OP

    • What are you going to do for the next three weeks while it gets delivered?

      • +5

        Hold it till then.

        • Just try to regulate your body to doing a poo every night before you shower ;)

  • +2

Thanks, grabbed one. Rare as hens teeth at the shops

  • -2

So much for the ACCC & anti competitive price gouging

    • +11

      normal price, no?

  • +1

    Thanks :-)

  • +1

    Thanks my man.

  • +1

    thanks grabbed one

  • +4

Thanks OP, bought Kitchen Towel. I don't see them going cheaper in supermarkets anytime soon so it's a good deal

    • +1

running the numbers the only way you'll get it cheaper is woolworths or coles own brand paper towel, which even though only 2 ply is perfectly fine - but also the first to go.

  • +1

    Thanks grabbed a 30 pack

  • +4

So many ozbargainers buying expensive toilet paper, thought there would be more bidet users on here

    • +1

Problem is bidets cost too much

      • +2

no powerpoint next to the closet…

        • recycled water

  • +6

FINALLY I was in the right place at the right time!

    • +2

      /brofist

    • Same! I’ve been so stingy lately that I have avoided this place. Bless good timing in my favour for once.

  • +1

Unfortunately I didn't get the double length one, but got the more expensive / less value one…beggars can't be choosers!

    • -1

Given supermarkets are selling them at around $1 a roll, its a bargain. (what I told myself,)

    • The 4ply gold one? I bought 2x packs of that before Christmas - it was $12 for 30 rolls back then! Now it's full price at $20. Still got some though, it's not as good value but it's good toot paper :)

  • +1

20 roll (double length) sold out

  • +1

    20 pack gone

    Dettol Anti-Bacteria OUT OF STOCK

    • +8

Just be aware these are no good for Covid https://theconversation.com/coronavirus-household-cleaning-p…

      • -1

        Doesnt say anything about dettol.

        • +1

You actually have to read the article rather than just scan it for brand names.

          • @dm01: So according to that 'SARS-CoV-2 does not contain many fats'

But "Soap interferes with the fats in the virus shell and lift the virus from surfaces and this is then rinsed off by water"

Isnt that saying two different things?

            • @Turd: honestly a lot of governments, private companies, web sources etc are all guilty of some level of misinformation. the statement about the soap is probably partially correct. soap and water will remove it from the skin, though it is more of a mechanical and surface chemistry effect. when they talk about it interferring with the fats in the virus shell, to me that is talking about destruction.damaging the shell, which would help kill it, if it had a lot of fats. so them saying it helps is not wrong, but the way it is said is confusing/not completely correct and contradicting.

          • @dm01: https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/drugs-health…

Also lists "Benzalkonium Chloride" as good to use. From Canada government website.

            • @Turd: Once again, you haven't read the article properly.

If you want to trust a government's list of brand names over an actual scientific explanation of what and how, go right ahead.

              • @dm01: You better email the Canadian government about their errors and miss information.

                • @Turd:

                  …errors and miss information.

                  LOL!

                  • +1

@dm01: I can not spell, is that a crime?

                    • +2

@Turd: It should be. Fines could be levied against repeat offenders and the funds directed to primary educators and schools to help reverse our declining education standard.

        • +4

it doesn't need to, the dettol wipes antibacterial component is benzalkonium chloride, dettol liquid is chloroxylenol. The virus is susceptible to both, as well as to 70% isopropyl alcohol, but how susceptible? To me that remains unclear.
From what we've been reading/hearing etc, 70% alcohol and bleach seem to be the agents it is most susceptible to.
These wipes are probably better than nothing, but I would not risk using them in place of handwashing.

@Wilburre: The article links to this

            https://www.journalofhospitalinfection.com/article/S0195-6701(20)30046-3/fulltext

Its seems to be contentious as to how effective wipes are.

            Surface wipes
The active ingredient in surface wipes in an antiseptic –- usually benzalkonium chloride. The wipes work by physically removing germs through the pressure you apply when you use them, and the germs then attach to the wipe.

They also leave a layer of the antiseptic on the surface that works to kill germs. The antiseptic works well on bacteria as well as on coronaviruses that infect mice and dogs – but it seems to make no difference to the spread of human coronavirus. Antiseptics work by disrupting the fats in pathogen cells, but SARS-CoV-2 does not contain many fats. So far, there is no evidence that antiseptics can kill human coronaviruses.

            • +1

@streettriple: Oh I read your article and perused the sources. I'm not disagreeing with you. The publication the article links to is a review of other publications, the data for benzalkonium chloride is conflicting - the data scraped points to it having no effect in suspension tests, but a noticeable effect in carrier tests. Due to the age of the data (1998) it is also for different strains.

To reiterate my earlier comment - nobody should treat these wipes as a replacement for handwashing with clean soap and water. That would be incredibly foolish. Even hand sanitiser should not be used as a replacement to handwashing unless there is no other option.

For "cleaning" surfaces i.e "removing or destroying" the virus mass on surfaces - the gold standard still seems to be high percentage alcohol (such as methylated spirits - diggers should be roughly 95% ethanol)(big reduction numbers in literature for SARS-COV (1 not cov19 which is 2)), and likely bleach.

These wipes would help due to the mechanical effect, the biocidal ingredient - no clear data either way.

So as I said - likely better than nothing, also likely not the best or even most cost effective option.

              • +1

                @Wilburre: Yep totally with you

                • +1

@streettriple: even with my chemistry (and limited biology, but more than nothing) background, the info getting around from different sources including governments is crazy hard to pull apart. i can't imagine what the average person is going through trying to get some sense out of it.

that being said information issued by governments is generally issued for a purpose, not necessarily to be 100% technically accurate. technically any soap/surfactant or alcohol or biocidal cleaning product is going to help - they all will have that mechanical effect and help to or actually remove the virus from surfaces. whether they kill it or reduce its survival time on surfaces or not is another thing.

really though governments know people are concerned and want to know what to do - so i imagine they try to give info that shows lots of options so that people can feel safer and less confused about it. that is probably more important to them - giving people that internalised license to clean stuff, rather than not do it because the best stuff isn't available - rather than saying bleach or alcohol at x concentration for x time etc is the best. i call it the "keep them calm and get them doing something" approach.

    Cheers OP!

Couldn't add the dettol wipes 😥

    • +5

keyword is yesterday, should be long gone by now

Saw the stack by accident, bought first TP in a month. Pretty chill vibe in there too. Staff seemed relieved.

    • Yeah aldi usually has stock in my area. Only problem is they only come in 4 roll packs

  • +5

I really like that they've limited the toilet paper to 1 per person, means it stays in stock more than 30 seconds. :)

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed the 12 pack of paper towels as they're hard to find locally.

Missed out on the toilet paper after searching local stores this morning.
