Coles v Woolies with regards to FF points

We have been a Coles family but looking to swap to Woolies so we can double up on Qantas FF points with Woolworths Everyday card plus a credit card that also gives QFF points.

Is this a wise move? Does Coles only have FlyBuys or am I missing something?

  • QFF points (i think) have no expiry or longer duration than FB. It COULD be a wise move depending on your shopping moves. If you shop heavily, then thats an obvious yes. But I think its harder to get gift cards using QFF.

just where is cheap and ur savings will be greater than points gained!
    why lock urself to one!

aidi, franklins, coles, wollies, IGA all have specials

    • agree,i don't really care the point, you get 100 extra point but you get ripp off $5 what is the point get that extra point?
it remind me when i worked for credit card reward department, some moron need 200 extra point to get free flight from sydney to melb one way and ready to spend that $200 to get that extra point.

    • True but it's easier to get most things from one store rather than running around therefore doubling up on rewards for money you'll spend anyway. Good point though - we won't be locked into one store only just to get the points.

you are lucky if the "reward" is worth anymore than 1% of your spend so just go for the cheapest and keep a lookout for specials

  • Reward Points aren't free. You end up paying for them. It's factored into the cost of groceries. :)

  • I take advantage of the QFF with everyday rewards because Woolies is my local. So there's no extra effort needed. Between taking up deals when I would buy something anyway (buy catfood get 500 QFF points etc) and the CC use I get a free flight annually.
