Wanted: Make Money As A Google Play Developer

Hi Guys,

So there used to be apps that allowed you to cash-out Google Play Credit. They've been gone for years. But there are a lot of people out there that have earned Google Play Credits or have unused Google Play Credits and aren't adapt at creating apps as a Developer. If there are any Google Play Developers out there that are good with creating apps, that want to help people out, taking a fee for themselves, on a monthly basis, that'd be great.

  • Money laundering 101

Legitimate apps used to do this. If it was money laundering, Google would have taken them down. They even got to the top lists of Google Play (T-Cashback). Maybe do some research before you go spouting nonsense.

      • Guess why they arent in Google Play marketplace anymore.
'Taking a fee on a monthly basis', how much do you want to launder m8?

Well, it's not because Google took them down. They took down the T-Cashback app themselves. Again do your research.

          • @LinFisherman: Do your research says the man asking for help on Ozbargain.

@mooney: I just suggested a new idea. If you guys want to be trolls, go ahead. I obviously wasted my time.

      • This was a big thing in the whirlpool forums years ago.

It is specifically against Google's Developer's Terms and Conditions.

Just because the app got onto the play store, doesn't mean it has been reviewed on whether it meets the Terms and Conditions.

Apps breaking the Terms and Conditions get pulled down and Google gets to pocket the credit. This is why you can't find them in the play store anymore.

The title makes it sound like you're a developer, who wants to make money.

  • The guys above got a point and if you can't see it then idk what to tell you man.
Google Play Credit just like gift cards can't be converted into cash directly (you can seek for refund but that's obviously up to the providers' discretion).
When you purchase Google credits, you pretty much purchase Google service and while the credit has equivalent AUD value, Google obviously doesn't have a bank license so they aren't holding your deposit like a bank does. Same story with pretty much any gift card.
The app you mentioned probably took Google credits the same way any IAP happens: you buy into their service. That at least doesn't violate Google terms. I can charge you a million dollar just to watch me do nothing for eg.
Now the kind of service they provide to you to cash out may or may not violate Google terms (I lean towards it does but I don't know enough). But if you think from the authority's POV: you just receive an amount of money from someone/some entity for no reason. This is probably fine for small amount but once that someone/some entity send out a large enough amount of money, it raised red flag for obvious reasons.
Now I hope you can see how potentially abusive this can be and why such apps don't exist or if they do, won't stay alive for long. And btw you will receive zero support from Google or anyone should they decide to just run away with your Google credits.
