Groupon Menulog voucher doesn't work.

Bought the voucher recently off Groupon, but the voucher code they sent me was invalid when I entered it on the Menulog website. Keeps saying 'voucher code is for new customers only' even though I have never ordered from Menulog before.

Anyone else who bought the Groupon have similar issues?

I have sent Groupon an email but not holding my breath for a reply.

PS: Yes I know its $3, but the money isn't the issue. I'm just annoyed that they sent me an invalid code.

  • Are you making sure you're following the conditions of the voucher?

    From the link:

    " New customers and new delivery addresses only
    1 voucher per household
    Must redeem by 7 Dec 2011

    This tells me that you can't be a current customer and the restaurant needs to display VA in the VA column. Maybe yours doesn't have it?

  • I have followed the instructions to the tee. The restaurant I've chosen has VA on it. Still says 'voucher code is for new customers only'.

  • That's the issue - you've used Menulog before with the delivery address. Unfortunately the code does not apply to that address anymore

  • We've never ordered from Menulog before. Unless the previous tenants of the house did, but that would be at least 12+ yrs ago. Don't think Menulog was around then.

  • So to test it out I've made a new account, with fake name and fake address. Voucher still says for new customers only. I think this is a problem down Groupon/Menulog's end.

    Cause the voucher doesn't say when it's vaild from, you'd think when u receive it, you'll be able to use it. but who knows!

  • Code works now. I think finance was right - they prob weren't activated yet. Eating my cheap butter chicken as we speak :)

    I called them, they placed the order, charge my card and said they would refund the amount stated. Frankly, I haven't noticed if they have done so. By the way folks, if you use the voucher, you will not get the discount offered by any restaurant for first time customer. It negates the offer in that case. So order from a restaurant that does not offer a discount for first time order, it'll be more worthwhile.

    When are Menulog ever going to offer a voucher to existing customers?

    I used one of their first time offers and have never been back. Offering a decent voucher to existing customers every month or so may get people into the habit of using them.
