[QLD] Quilton 3ply 8 Pack $7.50 @ Woolworths (Garden City)

1321

Woolworths Garden City is stacked full of toilet paper, probably other outlets too.

Garden City, MacGregor, Brisbane

May not be the cheapest, be we have had almost no stock for about a month around here. Maybe you had some, I was down to me last half a roll the night before they vanished.

Now there's finally enough stock to meet demand, people should be aware. No more news print where news print aught not be.

There's not an empty space on the TP shelves, and they've been fully stocked for about 3 days I was told. Less worried about hoarders now, and more about those who have no idea availability is back in WW.

If this post doesn't happen to help you or offends you, I apologise to you.

Ive seen a few photos from friends and family in the last couple of days with supermarket shelves full of TP again. I am hopeful this means the hoarding period is over and supply has caught up again.

  • Great post, now to get out of the way of all the buses

Although my guess is the bottom will fall out. Shite happens…

$7.50 for an 8 pack is not a bargain.

    • Can you show us where to buy it cheaper, please?

      • +6

I just came back from my local Coles in Melbourne and they had stock of Quilton 20pk for $10.

        • +1

Not much use to someone is Brisbane though, right?

        • Which store in Melbourne?

      • +1

Got 24 at Woolies for $11 this morning.

    • -3

It’s not about bargains but availability.

    • +3

      Completely ridiculous gouging.

      • +1

You'll be waiting a while for these to go half price again while staying on the shelves.

  • +1

    Bargain?

  • +2

3 ply pack of 30 at Costco for $12.99 every day.

    • +1

Yep bought some yesterday. They had 3 pallets when I went.

    • +2

Costco requires membership of $60 or leeching off someone’s membership though, so not exactly a fair comparison.

      • -2

Well when comparing this deal with a years worth at Costco, the membership would pay itself off so I would say it's a very fair comparison.

    • Have people stopped lining up outside Costco stores now? We drove past Epping a few times and didn’t bother because of the lines. Haven’t checked lately.

  • +2

Best Buy at the moment is Aldi 24 pack for $8 my local in WA seems like the get 2 pallets every couple of days now

Coles and WW are just ripping us off at the moment

    • Yep my local Aldi seems to have a regular supply every day or 3 and at $8 per 24pk is pretty good value

      • -1

        what brand

        • +2

          what brand

          Scheiße Haus….

    • My local Aldi hasn’t had toilet paper for weeks. They’ve put other products in the section where it usually is. Today they had a few boxes of tissues there instead.

      • My local Aldi hasn’t had toilet paper for weeks.

        What do the staff use?

  • +4

    Not a bargain.
    Price per roll is excessive.
These posts are adding to the problem of driving up prices and shortages.
Corona virus isn’t going to change your bowel habits.

  • Which Garden City? There's more than 1 in Australia.

  • +1

Not really a bargain. More of a PSA

  • Buy things that are bargain even if you don't need, but this is not a bargain, don't buy if you don't need it.

  • +11

posts like this will cause stock to go unnecessarily…

people & locals who truly need it will be visiting semi-frequently to purchase it, these posts just encourage those with cash to just stock up.

i will probably get negged for this but don't mind, people need to stop hoarding TP

    • +2

Not that I approve of it but TP and tissue hoarding is a lot more benign than doing the same with masks and sanitisers.

    • I guess post like this drove fresh produce to 2 to 3 X more .
Great thinking I suggest you study basic economics !
Simple facts are some people haven't seen TP for 3 weeks now and with a price increase they may .
Last point the market has it at minimum 3 times this price so its actually a bargain :)
Don't believe look up sold listing on Ebay and 5 X this price has easily been achieved .
Wake up to supply and demand during the virus period people .

people - in stock is not a friggin deal

  • +2

How is this a bargain? Woolworths brand lux 3 ply 4 pack is $2.50!

  • +2

    Madness.

in times like these, all the morons are out

Everyone is getting stock now, even in SA! Foodland, Woolworths getting massive shipments in this week.

  • +3

even if there was a deal this is not the time to be encouraging hoarders.

    • Hoarders is less of a problem now, they're fully stocked, as in not an empty spot on the shelves, apparently they've had no problem keeping full stock for 3 days now. I wouldn't've known if I didn't go to buy vegetables, I gave up on even checking a while ago.

  • "be we have had no stock for about a month around here."

Really, they were on the shelves at Woolworths Sunnybank (just down the road) on Friday.

    • -3

A pity you didn't post it at that time then. There were none at the Coles across the road that day.

  • +1

I assumed that was double length. If it's normal it's an anti-bargain. Double the normal price per roll.

  • +1

don't really care and don't think this is a bargain, more expensive than what we normally pay

  • +1

    Go to Coles for TP

  • +1

Can we please stop this toilet paper hysteria … there is enough for everyone … this is not really a deal. No Bargain.

  • +1

    This isn't a deal.
Appreciate the PSA, but TPs are now available in store for less.

  • Almost $1 a roll. x_X!!!!

  • +1

Not a deal. Often goes to $5

    • Not in the last month…

      • +1

        Perhaps. But this isn’t OzNormalPrice

  • -1

Eight rolls for an exorbitant price is not a bargain. I have toilet paper from the deals that people who, thankfully, have posted in past. An example, October 2018 Amazon $22.50 60 rolls Kleenex, the Big W deal Kleenex 30 rolls $9 and Woolworths Kleenex 32 roll pack in the same sort of ball park were bargains. Don’t get me wrong, if you need it, you need it. Hopefully not talking high and might, I don’t see myself paying these sorts of prices. I would rather wash my bottom and use dry cloths. I have not bought one roll during the panic buying because I bought these deals that were posted.

Thanking you guys for all the years of bargains in an unforgiving world — fiscal wise.

  • +1

Of course there's plenty of stock, it's nearly a buck a roll.

  • +1

I saw people carrying 20 rolls pack in Coles this morning around 830am so I think if you get in early you still can get some. Costco have pallet load everyday , if you get in early you can 100% get TP

  • You can definitely do better than this.

  • Rather than people posting these as deals and having dozens of neg votes maybe there could be a section of ozbargain where people can post where these products are in stock.
Not everyone has been able to find toilet paper etc easily so wouldn’t it be nice to help people rather than crapping on about how your local has plenty and how you’ve managed to buy it so much cheaper?

I understand this is a site for bargains but things are a bit different in the world at the moment and a bit of community spirit would be nice.

    • +2

maybe there could be a section of ozbargain where people can post where these products are in stock.

There is a place already… It's called facebook.

      This site is for Bargains…
