  • Nice find op!

      Hah, racism! Hilarious!

Chin chin is Thai food, by the way, and bloody delicious at that.

      • +1

Chin Chin is not strictly Thai, it's some weird south East Asian fusion cuisine, prepared by non-Asians. Tried it once, a far cry from the real thing.

Doesnt matter …. lots of South East Asian countries eat animals which are best left alone.
They should rightly be be called out for this…is there any dearth of food that they have to eat live, unskinned mice, snakes, alligators, bats, earthworms, etc etc etc
This pathetic behaviour of theirs is now affecting me and my family and I dont care if you think its racist - its not.

        • How do you know that it was due to eating bats, that the COVID-19 pandemic came about? Do you have any clear evidence for that or are you just regurgitating sensationalist journalism?

        • I've eaten earthworms, quite tasty.

This has nothing to do with diet. The Hendra virus, first found in Australia, jumped from bats to horses to people. We're just lucky it didn't transmit from human to human. It's just blind bad luck. Wild animal markets aren't great (also illegal in China, by the way), but that's not the cause of what we're going through now, that's just people looking for something to blame for what is a really shitty situation.

If blaming someone makes you feel better about the shit situation you and your family are currently in, so be it, but it's just a coping mechanism, not reality.

Nah mate, your stereotyping of Asians is pretty much the definition of racist.

Is Chin Chin owned by Bruce Campbell and Jay Leno?

Chin Chin is Japanese for “penis”!

      First thing I thought lmao

Are pharmacists counted as healthcare workers too?

    • I hope so. You lot have to deal with the same dip$hits* as the rest of the health industry.

*referring to idiots who cough in healthcare workers faces, are physically and verbally abusive, inconsiderate, etc. I know it’s not everyone but these are real problems they face.

    • I would think so, it says anyone working in a hospital or healthcare sector!

Great deal! Would be great if some organisations can include teachers too. We are all equally at risk, especially with kids not aware of the severity of not being able to socially distance each other.

  • $10 dinners :D

  • One of the most overrated places

    Overpriced average food

Hmm, it's been a while since I've had Hawker Hall but the serving sizes seem very small. I ordered the sweet & sour pork and there were four pieces of pork. At $17.5, this would be a total rip off. It's not really 50% off if you're getting 50% of the food…
The curry barely filled half the container.
Anyone else experience this small serving size?

    • +2

Ordered tonight - tiny serves. It was okay value at half price, but if anyone were to not get 50% off it would be a complete rip off. Quality is nowhere close to standard Chin Chin quality either. Queue is shorter though!

      • +1

I have a feeling though, that they are giving such small servings due to the 50% offer. Surely their main meals aren't that tiny!! Very disappointed that they are doing this.

    • +1

Agreed definitely smaller portions - very suspect when you're asked to call to make your order instead of online like everyone else

  • anyone tried the takeaway from chin chin? will probably avoid hawker hall if the servings are that small! I'm assuming that baby pizza would be harder to give a smaller serve as the sizes are standardised?
