I just found out I can't receive incoming verification text as my kogan is currently not charged. Found out from kogan website that after plan expiry, will only be able to receive incoming calls and text for 20days! Phone number will be reserved for 90days. Tried to call 12612 their customer service but apparently it has been shut down. I don't think any other telcos hv the 20days limit? Will be trying to transfer out my number ASAP, n hopefully it will work! Any advice appreciated.

One of my Telstra sims expired on Dec 23 and I received a phone call on it yesterday.
Whilst other providers may allow you to continue receiving calls and texts when you are not financial, I don't see why any company should have an obligation to. No Kogan fan, but I don't think they are doing anything wrong here. You may need to recharge in order to port out, otherwise you will have trouble proving ownership of the number to your new telco. Maybe some telcos can verify your ownership of the number some other way - not sure.

Sounds fair and valid, they don't have to offer incoming calls/text once you are out of credit.

As above, you'll fail the verification text for the port. You will need to do the cheapest recharge first.

not really when others provide a 90 day grace period. just kogan being a tight wad. does it even cost them money?
As for what other providers offer as a grace period, doesn't really matter. There is no law saying they have to offer incoming calls/text if expired, Kogan offers 20 days of free incoming calls/text, and will hold your number for 90 days.
The fact is, you don't have a valid paid up service when your recharge has expired, so your expectations should be zero if you're not paying anything.
If my postpaid stops being paid, the whole thing stops working. I don't get a 'grace' period of free incoming calls.

I actived my kogan mobile sim on 23/03/2020 online, it has been 7 days now, my mobile number still not port from Catch mobile while my Catch mobile plan was expired. I now can't make any call & message. I called Kogan 1300 056426 appearancely the line was shut. any advice is appreciated!
Don't use or support Kogan. It's a company that clearly doesn't care about their customers with dodgy products, poor customer service and blatant price-jacking.
