Should work out to be ~$213 paid today with cashback of ~$194 in three months. So $19 bucks for 3 years in the long run.

      I hope I didn't read it wrong.

    • I think this is the same deal as the one earlier in March? I paid AUD 201.61 two weeks ago and the widget says I'm supposed to get $168.41 (or 83.5%) back.

This or surfshark for Netflix/ prime video?

    • Wanna know the same. Thx

I have NordVPN, subscribed at the last 90% cashback. I can confirm that Netflix works for Australia and USA. 95% of the time, video plays well. 5% of the time, it takes a while to start.

I only have 10Mbps connection, I work overseas where i use this.

      .

      • what speed would you say you generally get off your 10mbps connection with nord active? does it affect it?

    • +1

I've had good experiences with NORD when it comes to Netflix. I stream Full HD and rarely encounter problems. They have enough servers that if one is slow, you can always just try another one. I've always been able to find one that works fast enough. I've also never encountered a situation where netflix would block the service. My experience with US Prime is limited, but its worked every time.

    • How does this work, if I have an neflix account set up in Australia and I VPN to USA do I just log into netlix? I've thought they would realise I was just in Australia a few hours ago when I last logged on without a VPN. Also it seems I shouldn't chop and change i.e. with and without the VPN as that would show them I'm on a VPN.

      • So the people in the know say to access Netflix US on Nord, you need to connect VPN via Australia (not USA) I have done this and it connects no issues but my question is how do I check if the content I’m getting is from Netflix AU or Netflix USA - apologies for the noob question

        • How I understand it is that the offerings from NF USA are better so you need it from there and you connect to them via VPN.

On my question I guess I'd need to sign up to a new NF account with NF USA…then there's the question would that work with an AUS Visa card?

@franek: A netflix subscription is technically global, you just get access to the content (theu think) you're in.

So your AU account works in Canada, Turkey, Brazil, etc

            • @[Deactivated]: supabrudda can you comment on my question three steps above you?

              • @franek: You get the content of whatever country you're connected as through a VPN. You only need 1 Netflix account.

        • Can anyone comment on this: ->

-> -> Can you happily switch between watching US NF with VPN and then watch AUS NF without VPN and cycle between these without problems?

          • @franek: When you don’t have VPN activated - it plays NF AU - you just need to switch off the VPN on your device. Similariliy you can flick back to VPN - May need a few tries as NF sometimes recognised that there is a proxy / VPN active. There are no issues in going back and forth

Edit - I don’t even have a NF AU sub - I have a NF Turkish Sub for over an year - no issues

    • i have surfshark and honestly cant complain. i paid $10 after cash back for 3 years and sometimes it does run slow (possibly even 720p) but its not too common. if i had my time again i would probably try nord for the extra $10. that being said i have had no issues with accessing netflix and has worked flawlessly.

  • On another note is there a simple way to chromecast US Netflix

Asking as I am hopeless with technology

    • This is a bit late, but you can cast your computer screen onto a tv display using chromecast. The three dotted menu icon in google chrome should show a cast option. From the options choose cast desktop or cast tab if you only want to cast the browser tab that runs netflix. This way you install the VPN onto your computer and cast the display wirelessly to your TV. There will some input lag and you notice it when moving the mouse cursor but videos should play smooth enough. If your not sure, google "cast chrome browser to chromecast TV".

The more powerful solution is to set up a vpn on your router but that is more complicated and only if your router supports it.

If you purchase, make sure you keep an eye on what cashback value CR process this as. Last time it was offered, the cashback amount was significantly lower until I had to reach out to CR - they did resolve it with the correct amount, but only because I spotted the issue.

    • Same for me - I had to contact them 3 times as the amount kept changing

  • with aud so low.. you probably gonna get around 70 to 80% cashback after currency loss

  • +2

Thought this might help you guys…
    I got charged AUD 215.91.
CR tracked the cash back successfully and expected cb is 188.11.
I paid using citi cc in USD for 3 year deal.

  • You are kidding me… I bought it yesterday with only 30% cashhback lol

it only takes a quick search on ozb to determine NordVPN has 90% or more cashback quite frequently.

    • They have 30% money back guarantee. Tell them you have issue with speed, they will have 2-3 email sent to you to try different things but stick to your story and you will get full refund. Use another email to register again when cancelled.

  • if you pay using a US ip does that ignore our GST?

    • +1

Select a us location and avoid gst

I signed up last week when it was 90% my cashback didn't register so be aware. Just waiting to hear back from cashrewards now, if it doesn't go through I'm just going to cancel.

  • Just took this up - hoping the cash rewards works! Not sure exactly what it will end up working out as but somewhere between $20-30 for 3 years. Great price if it works out.

  • im waiting for the 99% off offer coming soon.
