With the release of the new ipad pro, I was hoping some retailers will be doing discounts on the older model to offload stock. Anyone seen anything?

tends to be a fair while after they are superseded that they are heavily discounted
JB recently listed the 2020 models, the 256GB model from 2018 is only $50 cheaper. As Joelhinch said, everybody is buying iPads right now to get their kids ready for home learning so can't see any sales going on.
iPads will probably sell out well the uptake in online learning for schools. Haven’t seen any deals.
