You claim a percentage of costs. So if you’re at home for 24x7 = 168 hours a week, and working 40 hours a week, you’ll claim roughly 40/168 of your bills etc. however if this room is a dedicated office believe you can claim the whole thing. Believe you do need to be mindful of home office tax deductions though as it may affect your CGT despite the property being your PPOR.
Captain Offended here. It's an interesting time. Technically, if you have a place to work from (at work) then the most you're allowed to claim from home is electricity. But that's all changed now. You won't be allowed to go to the office. So it really opens up your claims. But, it will be reduced to the time you aren't allowed to go to the office. And there would also be CGT implications. But you would certainly be allowed to claim a new bulb for your home office in this situation if that helps.
Been waiting for the e27 at this price :(
You can buy these socket converters on ebay for under $5.
They’re not legal in Australia, are they?
No, they are not legal. Good point.
There is also a few of these around at $69.when you can find them..

Philips Hue White Ambiance A19 (A60) Starter Kit
•Kit includes: 2 x A19 (A60) bulbs - edison screw fitting
•Phillips HUE dimming switch
•Wireless bridge 2.0
•800 lumens (about 60W equivalent)
•Longer lifetime - 25 000 hoursJust be mindful that the $69 kit is the white ambience (can change the colour temp from cool white to warm white), whereas the original deal is relating a colour bulb that can do the full spectrum of colours as well as the whites. If you're not fussed about colour and just want the benefits of smart lights and/or change white temperature then the white ambience lights are good value too.
Been waiting on these ones for ages but unfortunately I have no money to spend on them now :(
I'm guessing you could price beat this at Bunning's for an extra 10% discount.
Couldn't find this bulb on Bunnings website.
Been that for a bit a clearance

If you're now working from home, to what extent will you be able to claim tax deductions on things like this if you out them in your work space (i.e. spare room)?
