Delivery services vs restaurant/takeaway direct

A lot of restaurants and take away places are asking customers to go straight to them and bypass the delivery companies as the additional cut that the delivery companies take means that it is even harder to survive in the COVID-19 world.

Many will offer to deliver to you themselves, or bring the food to your car, etc, and give you a discount.

So please take that into account and not just the x% discount through the delivery companies.

Support our local businesses - they are going to be doing it very tough in the coming months.

    Non-essential services to close within the next 48 hours in NSW and vic I think, which may include

    restaurants, pubs, cafes, cinemas, weddings and funerals

    Though no actual examples were given. I think many local businesses will be very hit with this. I've been trying not to eat food at home (as I can eat it later) and visit as much local take aways as I can. Many seem quite sad as its been quiet, but very happy to see me/any customer. Hopefully, they make it through it alright.

      I hope the Government is not retarded enough to ban restaurant deliveries.

        I hope the government makes similar arrangement like Malaysia: Restaurants are allowed to open but no dine-in, only takeaway and delivery. Many restaurants are now taking orders through messaging apps.

    Just make sure you price your food under the delivery services.

    Thirty percent for a computer connecting a customer to a fast food establishment is ridiculous and a fine example of competition failing abysmally.

    Right now, they need every cent. I've been getting emails from my favourite restaurants about their freezable dinner packs and I will be supporting them.

    Do they have an electronic payment option which then allows for a contactless delivery though?
