Cannot Unsubscribe from NT News/Newscorp for The Life of Me

So I subscribed to NT News to keep up with the corona virus right. They had a special going $1 28 days. However, I read over everything and it said there's a 7 day cancellation notice. So yesterday I tried to cancel, they have no cancellation button on their website. It says call within business hours, I call on Friday and it says they're closed. An hour before they should be.

Then I call today. Phone lines are "busy". I wait a while and call again. Then it says call within their business hours?? It's 9am here and their business hours for Saturday, on their website, are 7-11am. So they're just straight up lying. Now the cancellation notice for this period is finished so I have to pay. How is that legal? Is their anything I can do?

I mean I know I can disable payments via paypal but can't they call debt collectors or put it against my credit for not paying?

EDIT: I emailed support and they cancelled it right away no questions asked.

    Is there a setting in your account details when signed in. Use contact us and email them your issues.

      I did thanks. They even have a support ticket option for cancelling subscriptions that's blocked. I used "technical issues" but what kind of slimy shit is that

    No they'll just attempt to charge you, paypal will decline and you will no longer be allowed to login.

    No debt collection if you cancel paypal preapproved payments.

    The papers make you call them to cancel. They they ask you why and try and offer you different subscription rate. Unfortunately you’ll have to call them.

    Holy shit, I signed up to read one pertinent article and now I can't cancel from this abomination.
    How the (profanity) is this legal in 2021?
