Have a aldi 12 month prepaid spare sim used for online purchases, gumtree/ebay or signing up for services
might make a few sms per month, however, once or twice a year, eg this month ive recharged 2 times at $15 which is $30,
for $30 I could sign up to the intro $5 kogan plans every month or catch and rotate for 6 months,
any chance I could use the same number and change to a different plan/sim for a month?

Not the same one. You need a new 365 sim. Once you port your number it will cancel that service

You are better offer with dodo. $5 a month unlimited calls and sms. No need to move around then.
