Any Major Brands Uses The Same Battery as Xfinity Workzone Batteries from ALDI?

Can the Aldi branded ones be swapped to be used with brands such as Makita, Ozito etc? Or are they all unique and non-swappable?

all deliberately made non-interchangeable without some sort of adaptor

  • That seriously sucks. The world doesn't need more e wastes!

    • They just want you to stick with one brand. It is possible to buy some adaptors, but you probably won’t find an Aldi one, they aren’t a very common brand.

Did you want to use the Aldi battery on something else, or use a different battery for your Aldi tools? From my experience with the Aldi cordless gear, you’d be better off finding another brand. I didn’t find their drill or impact driver very powerful.

    • does look very similar

      • It'll probably be the same, but… you might one of the slots will be a little bit wider or something just because. May be easy to modify.

        • I can confirm that the autobarn powerg tools work with the workzone xfinity battery system (as I've bought some and tried them) so I'm assuming the powerg batteries will work with the workzone xfinity tool range.

  • There is guy on Gumtree that sells adapters, but I can't recall if it means you can use Workzone batteries with Ozito/Makita tools, or the other way around.

    • I bought a 3D printed adapter to connect Aldi Batteries to my couple of Ryobi tools.
It all fits ok but it seems he used the steel u spring from a plastic peg for the contacts and it wrecks the Ryobi device contacts that connect the battery.
I paid $40 from a guy in QLD and its a waste of money.

      • Makita to to Ryobi adapters are available from Chinese sites, as well as several adapters for other stuff, I bought the MXT to LXT adapters for my older Makita tools, had to hard wire then into them as they kept loosing contact, but now my MXT tools are useful, one is a Recip Saw, the thing is pure scookum, glad to have that working again, the other is a circ saw, that thing seems to use less current than a brush-less and is mega torquey!

It's sad how the MXT to LXT adapters are dearer, but I relaised if I'm hard wiring and attaching so it don't fall off with screws, I could use the cheaper LXT to Ryobi ones and have bought one to experiment with as MXT stuff comes up cheap on marketplace and Gumtree etc.

    • Yeah, it's made in 3 parts, glued with superglue and falls to bits due to vibration, not cheap and bad value, wasted my $ on that!

  • I know 3D Printed Power Tool Battery Adapter exist, but mostly for popular brands such as Dewalt, Milwaukee, Makita, etc.

Europe has legislated for all charging cables to be unified, I think they should do the same for battery packs too. Have battery packs for separate brands or being forced to be tied to one brand seriously sucks.

    • It would be good to see, but not sure how likely it will happen.
