The most you want to pay as now both are end of life, likely see better deals in the short term, would even consider buying used $250/$300

14 days… hmm, maybe grab a few more games just in case.
Grab more in case months lock down.
May want to start your isolation two days earlier to actually download system updates, game DL's as the NBN won't cope with the hammering of everyone staying home.
So get ahead of the curve and get an xbox now so that you can download all the updates before mandatory isolation!
Then you either aren't normally a "big supporter of net neutrality" or you don't have a clue about the internet!
People playing games or watching Netflix isn't going to prevent people working from home.
If there are to be many people working from home during business hours they will need access to video conferencing, remote workstation, large file transfers etc. If, due to isolation requirements, there is also a concurrent massive increase in daytime usage of netflix and large game downloads, multiplayer games etc, how do you not see that this could cause a problem for workers? Are you aware of what network congestion is?
@Gravy: I'm well aware of what congestion is. If you think working from home means everyone sitting at home on HD video conferences then you're sorely mistaken. They also would likely have been using the internet at work anyway.
Italy seems to be coping perfectly fine…
I'm well aware of what congestion is. If you think working from home means everyone sitting at home on HD video conferences
I've used video conferencing extensively during my first two days of working from home.
I'm also a software engineer, so I need bandwidth to function.
They also would likely have been using the internet at work anyway.
Workers would most likely have not of been using residential grade internet connections at work. Completely different contention ratios.
@PainToad: I couldn't care less what YOU use, most people will not. Not that it even uses that much bandwidth anyway.
It's telling that the single source cited for these stupid concerns very clearly showed that locked down areas in Italy had negligible drops in average speed and latency. Speeds slowing from 70Mbps to 65Mbps isn't going to destroy the economy…
@callum9999: Keep in mind that the graph in the article I posted only showed the first day of the lockdown in Italy. I have no idea why you think the internet is immune to this problem, but here's another article where the EU are asking netflix to start throttling or risk things falling apart. I did't even need to go looking for this one, just noticed it at CNN and figured it's relevant to this topic.
https://edition.cnn.com/2020/03/19/tech/netflix-internet-ove…
If you have knowledge of why an overload is not a possibility then I'd be interested in understanding your viewpoint.
@callum9999: The CNN article I linked to regarding the EU asking Netflix to throttle their users has now been updated. Netflix will be reducing it's bit rate for the next 30 days in Europe to help reduce the strain. Whether this occurs in other regions as well will depend on how the virus progresses but it sets quite a precedent. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/03/19/tech/netflix-internet-ove…
https://edition.cnn.com/2020/03/19/tech/netflix-internet-ove…
@callum9999: Business internet connections usually have better service agreements than home internet and I think home user speed will be sacrificed first.
Italian internet speed had quite a significant drop in the last month, particularly at the point of lockdown on March 9th. I can't find data for after that date but it's worth looking at https://au.pcmag.com/networking-2/66005/covid-19-isnt-crashi… regarding data that Ookla has collected up until that date.
The hope is that the internet stands up to the stress test, but I think that anyone using satellite or wireless internet is going to face some issues, and even fixed line internet may be affected to a lesser degree.
Obviously everyone wants to get their fair share of entertainment in the event of a lockdown occurring here, but what Paintoad suggested above is worth considering. Sometimes you have to consider what are wants and what are needs, particularly in times of crisis.
@Gravy: But these “gamers” playing their video games and watching tv is more important than keeping the economy afloat. Children 🙄
@PainToad: Unfortunately, I think it's common for people to not see the big picture. Internet speed will be the very least of everyone's worries very shortly unless we can get on top of things.
@Gravy: Unfortunately, it's common for ignorant know-it-alls to declare their opinions as fact.
People aren't "seeing the big picture" because we aren't living in your fantasy land.
@callum9999: I think you are probably right on that first point.
Here's an updated article on this particular topic worth a read at https://edition.cnn.com/2020/03/19/tech/netflix-internet-ove…
"London (CNN Business)The European Union is urging Netflix and other streaming platforms to stop showing video in high definition to prevent the internet from breaking under the strain of unprecedented usage due to the coronavirus pandemic.
With so many countries on forced lockdowns to fight the spread of the virus, hundreds of millions working from home and even more children out of school, EU officials are concerned about the huge strain on internet bandwidth."
You either support net neutrality or you don't
Can't pick and choose to support it whenever it suits you. These are not normal black and white times.
I’m one of those guys who is working from home. I opted for a fairly fast (100/20) connection for this purpose. I need to do Confrencing and connect to remote machines over VPN (Both Remote Desktop connections and ssh). If my connection is slow, that would mean that my ISP is not providing me with promised speed, I wouldn’t level accusations against my neighbours watching Netflix or Downloading games. I would recommend getting it touch with your ISP, or switch providers if they start blaming your neighbours, because they clearly haven’t purchased the necessary bandwidth to support their customers.
Keep in mind that the quantity of bandwidth required to service everyone locked down at home may not actually be available for the ISP to purchase, or may be cost-prohibitive for the ISP depending on the contracts they have with their customers.
Appears you have some serious sway in Europe. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/03/19/tech/netflix-internet-ove…
this guy games.
Especially with the Xbox.
Some games can't even boot up without updating them.If its a game that is playable offline you can usually disable your network connection and they should work without an update.
Recommended Games to prepare you for the apocalypse:
- Fallout 4
- The Long Dark
- Metro 2033
- Resident Evil
- Dying LightState of Decay 2 seems to be missing from your list :).
Love the SoD games. With the Juggernaut Edition update (including all DLC being made free), now couldn't be a more perfect time.
Is Medal of Honour still around? Haven't played any games for more than a decade but will consider getting a console if the only game I loved is still published.
+1 for Dying Light. Massively underrated game.
Wish the bundle gave buyer the option to choose game
be patient better deals will come this is average
You could sell the game and use the money to buy the game you want.
That's a good deal, because eb games sells refurbished for $470.
I wonder if you can price match.
Do people really pay for eBay plus?
It's really the worst of all the subscription services, especially compared to Amazon prime.
Nope. I paid $49 for it then they gave me a $50 voucher.
THEY PAID ME.
EBay customer service paid me $20 (into my bank account, not credit) and asked me not to share with others what had been discussed in the chat.
I GOT HUSH MONEY lol
I paid $49, got $50 credit and after a few weeks I got a second $50 credit with a message:
"We’re sorry there was a delay in delivery with the $50 gift card you received in our recent eBay Plus promotion. This was due to a technical issue that has now been resolved. To thank you for your patience, here is an additional $50 gift card to spend on eBay."
I have no idea why they did that as the first $50 voucher was available 3 days after my payment, and I didn't complain…
The most you want to pay as now both are end of life
Both will continue receiving support and games will continue to be developed for years to come, just like every previous generation of consoles.
Just saying $400 is the max you should pay nowadays, better deals will come in the near term to move stock
Just wondering anybody received their XBox X from last Microsoft Price error?
Mine came yesterday
I'd expect better discounts from Microsoft/Sony using STAYATHOME coupon code, particularly considering the consoles will be replaced soon.
Any idea what firmware version the PS4 Pro 1TB fortnite bundle came with?
5.50
any deals for a ps4 slimline 500gb? just need something basic to tide me over.
Any ssd deals?
Computer Alliance Samsung EVO 860 1TB $181.90 after discount.

How cheap do people think these will realistically get once Series X launches. Just out of interest.
Sub $400 with a game does seem pretty attractive!
No better way to spend a 14day isolation holiday.
