Anyone Claimed Credit or Changed Their Flights for Air New Zealand?

We booked to go in April. It looks like they giving credit without any penalties.

However, their site says not to can unless flying in 2 days.

Just seeing if someone has gone through process

  • I was suppose to fly today. Have been trying to contact Air New Zealand since Monday via phone, twitter, Whatsapp and SMS. Finally got through yesterday via SMS and got full refund.

  • This is OzBargain. Based on recent flight deals, there are enough idiots here that one would tell you to fly during the world-wide Do Not Travel advisory.

    Yes EVERYONE is calling them for flights in weeks or months time. Your flight is over 2 weeks away. Its cancelled and not happening. They'll be in touch soon enough. Just wait your turn.

  • I was in US last week, changed my flight twice to come back early. cost me $1800+

  • We were booked to fly to US in 2nd week of June on AirNZ. They were happy to either give me a reschedule or a refund, no cost. I chose to cancel and received a full refund in 4 business days.

    I did it last Thursday and received a refund on Wednesday to my Credit Card - seamless experience.

    I had a Virgin flight on April 4, cancelled - full refund credited.

  • Has anyone booked through a third party and managed to get a refund? I've simply been told that Air NZ is only offering credit so that's what they're passing on.

    • I am still checking with them. They offers by refund of airport tax,etc (~50% of ticket price) and remaining in Credit. I am not sure how others on the thread managed to get full refunds.

        It might be that the other OzBargainers purchased tickets with refundable options and that could be why it's been so easy for them… Meanwhile, my e-ticket doesn't even say what type it is :/

        • actually i will take that back. They are either offering 50% in refund of airport taxes, etc or keep 100% in credit. So, it is credit only. I guess there isn't much choice. I would love to know if anyone with non-refundable tickets got a full refund?
