1060
529367

ShowFilmFirst are giving out tickets to premier screenings of Footloose in NSW, VIC and QLD.

At time of posting all locations have tickets available.

Movie is officially released on Thu 6th October.

Ren MacCormack (Kenny Wormald) is transplanted from Boston to the small southern town of Bomont where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock. A few years prior, the community was rocked by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out and Bomont’s local councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore responded by implementing ordinances that prohibit loud music and dancing. Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the ban, revitalising the town and falling in love with the minister’s troubled daughter Ariel (Julianne Hough) in the process

  • i prefer the original…

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087277/

    • City kid moves to a small town where rock 'n' roll and dancing have been banned

So from what I can tell, it's kind of like back to the future without all the time travel.

      Well, free is free!

    • So you've already seen this one as a comparison?

      • you don't need to see something to have a "preference"…

the new one won't have the nostalgia or childhood memories of the original, to it wont appeal to me…

  • Thanks. Received an e-mail from them today, but I didn't actually receive any offer for free tickets.

I'm still disgusted that they remade it - Original thought in Hollywood is dead :(

    • They are remaking spiderman already as well.

      • +1

Other recent/coming remakes are Dirty Dancing, Fright Night, Total Recall, The Gambler, The Thin man, Flatliners and The Great Gatsby. Between The remakes, the sequels and based on a book movies original scripts in Hollywood are an endagered species.

    • At least they remastered the original.

    • +1

Always was. Many ideas are pulled from old English films. Hollywood good for music and dazzle. English for story content. Bollywood - well name says what they are trying to do.

  • Hrm.. so you get allocation but its not a guarantee that you'll get a seat.. don't think i'll bother to be honest as I want to know for certain that i'll get a seat, otherwise it'll be a long wasted round trip.. +1 tho as it is a bargain..

  • thanks

  • wow cheers, this usually goes real fast and for once i got the tickets without any delays or problems? people must be either sleeping or dislike these?

  • Thanks, got some for the wife and kid.

    • +5

Because they've "been workin', so hard…"?

      • -1

is that a line from the movie :S?

        • +4

          I been working so hard
          Keep punching my card
          Eight hours, for what?
Oh, tell me what I got

  • Easy to nab a double to Southbank Qld, for 14-Sep.

    Nice one shadowshriek, thanks!

  • Great. Thanks!!

  • Cheers mate

  • Thanks!

  • Awesome, the GF will be stoked :)

  • I opened the link but found no where to apply for the ticket :(. Any hints ? thanks.

    • Enter the coupon code "529367" in the box on left hand side of the page

      • Oh Thanks a lot ! I have got the tickets :)

  • what about WA and SA :0(, freebie is the only reason I would see this!

  • thanks!

  • got the tickets but it says first in first serve at the ticket office? wtf? getting those tickets doesn't guaranty entry i think.

    • I just had a look at the T&C's for their site:

      Allocation of tickets
All tickets are supplied in good faith and Showfilmfirst cannot be held responsible for any changes or cancellation in screening times. Tickets are supplied on a first come, first served basis. Whilst all efforts are made to ensure tickets are allocated to capacity, in the event that there is overbooking, for whatever reason, any alternative ticket allocation is entirely at the discretion of Showfilmfirst or the cinema manager. No guaranteed compensation is offered. Tickets are supplied for use of applicant and guest only. Tickets are non transferable.

I think with previous offers, once all the tickets have been allocated, the location will be shown as unavailable, etc

  • great deal thanks!

  • not knockin this as a bargain.. and normally i am the first to jump on to these free screenings.. but in this case, i can't help but feel that this will be 1.5-2 hours of my life that i will waste and never get back.. these remakes tend to be horrendous. the movie studios seem to make alot of them these days as if they are too scared or lazy to come up with anything original..

    • Hope it's not a waste of time. Will go see for critique.

  • So once u reedemed the code do i just go down the cinemas and exchange the movie tickets To use on the actual day? Or present the printed paper upon arrive on that day the @ the tk collector?

    • Usually you don't have to go to the ticket box, does the printed pass have a cinema number on it if so go directly their and they will collect the pass from you as you enter.

  • +1

I have been to 2 of these before and it's never been anywhere near a sell-out where people have been turned away. There are so many people that grab tix and then just don't turn up. I wouldn't worry too much about not getting in. Just make sure to get there 10 mins early and you'll be fine.

Every cinema may be different, but last time I just showed my printed ticket to the ticket person near the actual cinemas (not at the ticket box) and he just pointed me to the cinema where the queue was already forming.

  • Looks like they have added in two for Canberra now as I was trying to look to see if there were any added in for SA yet.

    Woden (Hoyts)28/9 18.30
    Tuggeranong (Limelight)26/9 18.30

I couldnt see where anyone had previously posted that there were ACT tickets so may need to up the original posting

  • Awesome! Just printed off my ticket for next weekend :)

  • wow OP you're lucky
i just received email about this promotion

  • Yeah, I'm a member and SFF didn't even give me a code. Boooooo. All they said was to 'like' on Facebook for a CHANCE at getting it! Beh.

NSW still available, got two. Thanks! :)
