I have created a petition to push retailers to introduce a new system to cope up with panic situations. Where everyone gets the basic necessities and no one is allowed to stock months supplies by emptying shelves.

If you're going to start a petition in the future then have a point to make or proposal to be considered rather than a set of pointless questions.
Congratulations and good luck on the new bundle of joy. This situation won't last forever.
Imagine if you bought cloth nappies that fit…
Don't be silly, people have been using Huggies since the dawn of civilisation, we know no other ways.
@brendanm: And no one has ever thought to use water to clean their butts either!
@jjjaar: Ew, no thanks.
@[Deactivated]: Are you allergic to water?
@jjjaar: Acqua di Cristallo?
We have family friends state side that use family cloth. They are even more smug than normal.
You wasted all these people's time because your newborn is wearing infant nappies????
Wow.
firstworldproblems.
haha.
The ozbargainbaby's here and you didn't tell us about it?! Not cool, man.
Lol
The hero we needed, thank you op, Woolworths and Coles will throw profits to the wind once they see this change.org petition.
Stop pretending to be outraged by starting a useless petition.
But how else will we ever show our moral superiority?
Facebook statuses, duh.
I forgot that exists.
@[Deactivated]: I just try to forget that exists. Alcohol is failing me.
@AdosHouse: For some, a Shiraz. For others, a bourbon.
For me, Isopropyl.
@[Deactivated]: Mmmm that just-sterilised, virus free feeling as you take a sip.
@brendanm: I really love the aftertones of fresh PCB and the playful hints of heavy industry.
don't forget the patronising, virtue-signalling memes
If they had stricter rules you'd probably complain about that too.
No one saw this coming, especially not the TP, and just like a bank run, trying to make rules almost makes it worse.
You are never going to see laws restricting what people can buy in peacetime. The buying started before the disease was even a problem here.
And as a major problem, 200 infected and only 5 dead so far, and even then, those who dies were already in a bad place health wise. Unless your old and already scared of a flu, you have nothing to worry about!
Except those that do get sick will bring the healthcare system to its knees, filling hospitals to overflowing and taking up every possible resource leaving nothing leftover.
Better hope "the flu" is the worst thing that happens to you because getting treatment for anything will be difficult.500+ actually 😏
Fear is the real killer here, twitter, Facebook and the media spreading panic will kill far more than any surprise flu will kill, it is just another flu in the end…
What he was saying, which you ignored, was the run on stuff from supermarkets (like toilet paper) started before many cases emerged and there were no deaths.
Thoughts and prayers.
thoughts, prayers and forward.
Please sign my petition
That's heartless - start a new forum topic instead of hijacking this one.
He's using internet resources responsibly instead of hoarding threads and not letting others get some!
I wouldn't want to deprive ozbargain of another coronavirus thread, we need all the forum space we can get. It's a sacrifice we have to make in these trying times.
Good cause.
Has more signatures than OP's 😂
Thanks @brendanm. I have signed, sent my thoughts and prayers and I even donated to your cause. God speed!
Appreciate the thoughts and prayers, they are a shining beacon of hope in this terrible situation. Hopefully together we can make it a better place, for you and for me, and the entire human race.
There are people dying, if you care enough for the living. Make it a better place for you and for me.
They need to ensure limits are adhered to, and if something is sold out, alternative product should be offered at the same price. Noticed a lot of home brand and sale products were out of stock, but other more expensive options were plentiful.
Why? Why do they need to? They're a business, not govt charity.
Hey. seems like you are not in our situation.
Of course I am. Got back from Melbourne Sat night and cannot find adequate supplies anywhere in CBD too. We're all riding this out together.
That doesn't mean I'm entitled to make unreasonable demands to satisfy my case scenario though (like asking for-profit businesses to subsidise more expensive products).
No they don't. And I'm also shocked, shocked that cheaper versions sold out faster than more expensive versions.
They should just do this all the time, for every item. This way everyone can get all the expensive options at a cheaper price.
Can't even find more expensive options. Shelves are bare of everything.
Also noticed no one is stopping people from hoarding, scanned their items as normal. That's not true. I just saw someone trying to buy 3 cans of baked beans(?) at the self-checkout and the machine was beeping like crazy. The service attendant took 1 off her.
Did you at least ask to speak to the manager, Karen?

…
I want to start a Petition to Change How People Failure to English Goodly.
To the point though, oh no, people are buying things which are for sale. What an… outrage?
relax karen,
this is a one off crazy time.
the world is going to absolute total crazy sh#&t right now. this is not the time to sign petitions so that the next pandemic 100 years from now runs more smoothly. These buyers are the true SICK of society.
Why aren't their names taken and compelled to seek counsellingthats a bit mean
"OzHunterNSW". your name has been taken.
Put a poll up to see if this is a good idea or not.
That's a bad idea.
You can't stop simpletons stockpiling toilet paper for the medias proclaimed impending apocalypse, idiots will always exist. Just wipe with your left hand, eat with your right hand and keep soldiering on
These things are hard to enforce and expensive to implement.
Change.org is for profit organisation that makes millions selling people’s data. The petitions literally mean nothing and are a waste of time.
Coles & Woolworths are already reviewing situation and have put several measures in place to help alleviate some of the panic buying. I'm sure they'll continue to review and assess other options.
