Hotel Price Trackers - do they exist?

Hi - we will be going to Europe in August (assuming this whole thing blows over by then!)

We have not booked any accommodation yet, and will begin booking soon (ensuring cancellation policy is appropriate given the current circumstances).
Are there any hotel tracking websites out there so we can determine which hotels are on sale / are actually a bargain?

For example the W Barcelona shows ~186euro per night during our dates which is apparently on sale (according to the W Hotels website) - I'd like to be able to validate what the price normally is

  • There is a site that allows you to send in cancellable bookings and lets you know when the prices drop and rebook for you.
I can't remember the name of the site.

  • This is something I am trying to work out too, here is what I have found. Hopefully others have some tips.

Google Hotels has a track prices option for a search, it will occasionally send you emails saying what hotels are on special. I also search google hotels every couple of days and filter it to show deals.

Hotelscombined will track individual hotels but you need to put a search alert on every single hotel your interested in manually.

There is a app called Wego flights & hotels, you can put in your search then sort by greatest discount to get an idea of the best deals.

  • Considering there can be so many variations in rooms, where do you begin?.

  • No, one hotel can have many product offering. That is why there are so many booking websites out there.

  • I don't know of any consumer ones but you can buy access to commercial hotel price trackers (for thousands a year).

It's a massive amount of data so a very expensive service to provide.
