This is nice, but is it really usually 20 euro a month? I don't even see any ballet performances in their archives.

Maybe because it's an orchestra, not ballet?

This is nice, but is it really usually 20 euro a month? I don't even see any World War 2 tank documentaries in their archives.

      • Time to put down the bomb

  • What sound formats are supported in the stream?

  • I signed up cause I'm starting to become interested in this type of stuff, can anyone please suggest things to listen to on the platform? thanks

      They have a great collection

It depends on your taste. What classical composers /pieces do you like/

Maybe Rachmaninov piano concerto's 2/3. Love watching/listening to it.

      Check out Borodin's prince Igor.

      • Honestly anything at this point. Thanks for your suggestions btw. I'll check them out tomorrow during my study time.

      Baroque!!

      • Not really the Berlin Philharmonic’s speciality

      • Big name orchestras and conductors used to play baroque music, but since the 80s it has been almost completely monopolized by HIP-sters. Baroque is a good starting point since it has a relatively low dynamic range and short movements (ballet music is often beginner friendly as well). Tone poems based on concrete things (people, places, incidents, even Gods) might be worth listening to before progressing on to Romantic Symphonies or Concertos.

        • Oooh I didn't know that. And then I realized Latitude is for hipsters, though the Brandenburg was way less popular with them judging by the audience.

      • That was actually where i first went to cause i like thr painting

    • Them Italians might'n be able to contain a virus but can sure let loose a melody

A choice of listening to a world-renowned orchestra and conductors at the Berlin Philharmonic. No musical works are performed in the same way, even if it's written by the same composer.

Great deal. One of the top orchestras in the world. High quality recordings.

  • Wow this is incredible, thanks for sharing, is there any similar service for Ballet?

  • -2

Free is free, but a recording can not reproduce reverberations of the venue. Without that ambiance, what’s the point?

    • +4

Oh my friend, with a nice Hifi setup a good recording can very much bring you there when you close your eye :)

      • -2

        Not even close.

  • Thanks for sharing

  • Me and Berlin Phil go way back like deck chairs. Top bloke.
