Ford Loan Car Eligibility Whilst Repairing

Hi bargainers, today my car which is a Ranger Raptor (just over year old and 16,000 km) broke down on the road due to a powertrain issue. We organised towing through ford and an RACQ truck towed it away. They said it will be transported to the local Ford dealership and worked on there and we'll probably be without a car for 3 to 5 days.

Just wondering am I entitled for a loan car from the local dealership and how I would go about requesting one?

Cheers

    Try asking them.

When my Mustang was down for 2 months, I was given a thrifty rental for the entire period. For 5-7 days, it should be easy as Ford gives free loan cars for services anyway. Just ask

  • It depends if they have spare loaners available. Some places requires advanced booking.

  • Are you entitled to one? Probably not

Is it good customer service for them to loan you a car? Yes it is.

Don’t act all entitled when you ask Karen. Enquiring with the dealer if they have loaners, or a solution to your transport needs is the way to start the conversation.

The OzB loan car might be available.

Loan cars are on best effort if any are available.

So pick up the phone…. call the dealership and ask.

Or better yet, rock up about an hour from closing when the loan cars that have been out for the day are all back and ask :)

  • I remember those ads where they went on about free loan cars for services… not sure if thats still a thing.

    • It is for scheduled servicing.
