[WA] Samsung T5 Portable SSD 250GB - $89 @ The Good Guys, Midland

150

Hi guys, found this on clearance in-store at The Good Guys - Midland WA.

Not sure if it's store specific, but shows up as 'Not Available' on their website.
Seems significantly cheaper than competitors, a quick search of which showed them all at $105+
The 500GB one was their standard price, and can be found cheaper elsewhere, so avoid that.

Since it's available now, and can show evidence, Officeworks might pricebeat for another 5% off ($84.55).
Though they may whinge at the price not being visible online, and refuse.

  • How much do the enclosures cost? I think you can snag 480gb SSDs for the same price (especially with the ebay deal going on)

    • A decent enclosure that still does not achieve the speeds of a T5 will cost around $69. It is also bulkier.

This is not particularly economical, particularly if you only want a small capacity SSD

In my case I want compact low capacity SSD's for SBC's such as RPi 4B. I have traditionally used regular SSD's and enclosures, but this ends up not costing much less, are slower and bulkier. These seem ideal for my use case.

      I recently bought a bunch from amazon @ $94 and umart $99

If you want more capacity and better GB/$ then I think this is a pretty good deal:

  • is this the one with finger print sensor?

Yeah nah mate that'd be T7, which is hella more expensive

I have one. It's decently fast, small, light. Breathed new life into my old iMac since the internal would get way too hot (& slooooow AF).
