Car Accident Not at Fault

Hi guys i got accident today and i was not at fault. Police arrived at the scene and the tow truck take my car to repair yard and they gave me a rental car. My query is that is this the normal procedure. Do i need to check my car and what are the chances of write off. Do i need to do anything. I have informed my insurance as well

    If you are stressed after an accident please consult with a medical professional and keep off the road until you have properly recovered.

    There's enough bad drivers on the road as it is.

    Didn't expect this, I thought coppers not require to attend accident unless someone is dead.

    The reason I'm surprise about this my mate got T-bone by a hooligan POS and the copper didn't want to turn up.
