SORRY, THIS PAGE CANNOT BE ACCESSED. RETURN TO PAYPAL.

    Must be targetted

    • +1

It says that in the description and title.

      • +1

I saw this deal 1 min after it was posted. Targeted wasn't there previously. Was added after by OP.

          • +8

@WoodYouLikeSomeCash: There was no blue banner TARGETED due to the formatting of the title and was not in the description.

This was corrected by mod to be shown in all 3 revisions including the first one.

But yes, you are correct that it did say [ Targeted ] but due to formatting there was no banner. Can we move on now please, I didn't downvote your comments for the record, here's a +1 for both your comments

              @Lucille Bluth:

This was corrected by mod to be shown in all 3 revisions including the first one.

              That’s not how revisions / versioning works…

              • @[Deactivated]: See OPs comment below this comment .

The blue banner was added to the unedited (first) version and all edited versions after mods made changes.

It was definitely not displayed originally in the first (unedited) post, even though history appears to show it was always there (as confirmed now by OP and me originally).

            • +2

@Lucille Bluth: [TARGETED] was in the original title, I then reported it to the mods to mark as targeted (as it seems lowly plebs can't mark it as such with the blue banner).

I then edited it a minute later to add it to the description in case it wasn't obvious from the title.

At least it's all fixed up now.

              • -1

@b3au: Thanks for confirming the blue banner was not shown in first version and was only added after by mods which now displays it even in first version prior to the edits.

Anyway all sorted we can all move on now I hope 👌 wish I was targeted for this deal

"Register to join PayPal. You must be an existing PayPal member…" what??? Is this for new or existing PayPal members?

    • +1

Stupidly worded, but can confirm you need to have a PayPal account - whether you create one from the targeted promo, or log in with an existing account.

  • What are good things to use PayPal to pay for? Eg something like Coles/Woolies gift vouchers?

    • +5

      Paying for goods purchased online

      • Provided, that the merchant supports it.

        • Of course. Typically Chinese sites may not support it.

    • Sydney Water bills for people in NSW through Paypal, no surcharge and bonus points now. You can prepay more up to $167 to the offer limit.

Service NSW also takes PayPal and has reasonable surcharge.

  • The URL is fake. Good luck to those who pressed the yellow button

Lol so they took over the official PP domain website ?
I'd suggest you clean out your system .

  • +1

Doesn't seem like anything special - Maximum of only 1,000 points the be gained. Better than nothing, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

    • +5

Lol this is OzBargain. People go bananas for a $1 cash back deal here

      • I go orange

        • for few cents.

        • I am absolutely lime of the people who got targetted for this.. ;)

People still use PayPal, wouldn't put my money with them if a hurricane was coming.

    • +1

Yeah? So how do you pay for stuff online securely and with buyer protection?

      • Bank card, prepaid card, EFTPOS, credit card.

PayPal last time I checked is for mostly eBay or tiny businesses, but nothing beats a bank card.

        Escrow.

        • Putting in bank cards online is a risky proposition, just a matter of time before one is hacked (depending on where you buy online as well).

          • @AncientWisdom: Yes, I would expect that PayPal would have better security than some online shop.

PayPal is great. You do not need to enter your details over and over and you have a record of your spend. I use it to pay all my bills. The only thing that concerns me is that they classify a lot of my payments as "government services" even when it is not eg. simply energy. It happens when I use Post Billpay. Many credit cards give either reduced no reward points for government services spending.

        • +1

That's why I always add discounted prepaid cards to PayPal and use them to pay any bills that may not get credit card points.

Cards include: Only 1, Everywhere, Vanilla Visa card, Coles MasterCard. I know you like them, too.

          • @Neoika: Yes, they are great.

            • @Yola: I have looked into this further to make sure that the way I pay my bills maximises the reward points I earn, in this case Qantas FF. Although the conditions for the American Express Westpac Altitude Black Card state that the earn is only
"0.5 points per $1 spent at government bodies in Australia such as Australia Post & the Australian Taxation Office". I have found that I can see points I have earned on each spend online. All the payments I have made through Post Billpay including to local Government, Yarra Valley and Simply Energy have earned 1.25 points. So I am happy to keep paying all my bills through PayPal. The other benefit is that some bodies that do not allow payment by AMEX will do so if you can go through PayPal.

              • +1

@Yola: Usually I overstock these prepaid cards, which makes me use them as priority.

                • @Neoika: No such thing as overstocked on discount anything:)

  • Nothing beats western union, if you're trapped in another country forward the money via Western Union and have to pick it up in person at a agent, or via bank card for what ever reason, and that's half of it.
