Unless you work at my work (large corporate in Australia) - where we are instead guaranteed of being forced to take 2 weeks extra of your annual leave if you have to self-quarantine at home. If you have no remaining leave you have to stay home unpaid (no sick leave allowed).
They are probably doing this so people don't take advantage of the Govt rules for self-quarantine to get 2 weeks off work or 2 weeks working from home without being fired.
Unless you get the virus so you can use your sick leave!

Most ports in the south pacific are closed to cruise ships, Noumea has some meeting today and maybe closing as of tomorrow.
So while cruises are 'cheap' they really go nowhere.

China, Italy, Iran and South Korea are all good bargain destinations. The bonus is that the government will also give you an extra 2 week holiday on Christmas Island on the way back.
What’s everyone’s thought on this idea, Why doesn’t our governemnt allow domestic trips up to 1k , allowed to be a tax deduction. Stimulates the domestic tourism issue, gets money flowing. Better than what Rudd did and just hand it out.
People would just abuse it by buying holidays off family and friends etc
Must be flights and hotel bookings, who then pay tax, more than 200kms from your residence, something along those lines

Yeah great idea - have lots of people moving (most across borders), from city and urban centres, spreading the disease to other, more remote areas. Especially considering Hospitals are State run and aren't as cohesive at data-sharing between them, should all work really well. Much better than what Rudd did.

I would stay in Australia, Domestic travel is also cheaper because of less overseas tourists. I would say it's actually the best time to travel domestically. Plenty of things to see here without any of the stress of possible travel bans, booking cancellations and mandatory quarantines.
