Just wondering if there is anyone that has had experience with registering a business name for a NFP?
For those that have, do you know if an NFP is exempt from the fees associated with registering a business name?

With such limited info it’s hard to give you an answer as it’s complex. Maybe tell what your NFP aims are.
All NFP’s need to be registered first and have a different process for a name you do this thru fair trading in NSW
You need at least 5 members of the group to form a NFP and there are also annual fees. And meeting requirements. Fees are hefty if you miss annual deadlines. You need to have money first as the annual fees are hard to extract from members later, unless you alone are prepared to pay out each year. Any assets that at NFP has can never be distributed to members, it goes to govt.
