[PC] GOG - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - $11.99 (+$0.55 back)/Expansion Pass $9.99 (+$0.45 back) - Humble Bundle

1060

Fantastic price for an equally fantastic game.
If you buy the vanilla game plus the expansion pass you have the same content as the GOTY edition which is on sale for $23.69.

However, the base game+expansion pass cost you only $21.98 and $20.98 if one considers the money you get back into your HB account!

You will get a key for GOG where can then download the game DRM-free.

Enjoy!

It's drm free on steam too if you own it there

    • Do you mean that Steam lets you download the installation files and you can install the game on a PC with no Steam client on it?

I'm asking because I only have my Witcher 3 copy on GOG and never know Steam can let you do that.

      • you'd be able to copy/paste the files and play the game without needing to use steam. not quite what you're after.

I was more alluding to being able to run the game once it's installed without needing to use steam.

wish I could transfer saves from xbox…

    • +1

You can transfer pc saves to switch now but that's the only instance of transferrable saves as far as I'm aware for this game.

      • yeah. gives me hope that maybe at some point we'll be able to.

  • $59 just for the base game on Steam, this is a sweet deal indeed.

Ah fk I just bought this.

Don't be turned off by GOG, it's fine

  • Can I play this game offline, without having to download heaps of data from a launcher for another game launcher to launch the game in offline mode(GTA V from a previous deal)?
I just download this and I'm good to play or is it an expansion pack, I need the original game?
    Thanks

GoG.com allows you to download an installer that installs the entire game locally without any launcher if you want. They offer a laucher with cloud saves called GoG Galaxy, but it is optional.

This is the main game for $11.99 with the two awesome expansions for an additional $9.99.

      • Thanks mate, will be a good addition to my Dell G7… however need to get a bigger SSD too, running out of space already

For future reference GOG/CDPR is anti-DRM.

Meaning you can do what you like with the license instance and make legal backups and so on like the ACCC says you should be able to.

Obviously with the amount of money the video game industry throws about nothing will happen - but almost all games are violating an ACCC court decision on consumer rights. It mirrors similar court decisions in most jurisdictions.

It's illegal to sell a product that you plan on breaking without telling the consumer that the product will be broken purposefully.

DRM breaks products when it's no longer maintained.

There's no accountability of course and the industry just continues violating this piece of consumer law for the most part.

My current #1 game of all time. (so far)

If you're on the fence… this is a great time to finally get it.

    • Just finished it a few days ago. Holds up fairly well, but I wish I'd played it a few years back.

Don't hold out any longer if you haven't played it!

      • did it feel a little dated for you?

    • would you recommend it to someone that doesnt enjoy RPGs nor Witcher 2?

      • I'm more fond of elder scrolls and super duper fan boy got all of them and on switch too metro series. Eg. Metro redux and exodus :D

        • but do you play skyrim on your fridge though

      • if you like exploring you could enjoy it but overall probably not.

I can't keep focussed on any game for more than an hour or 2 before forgetting about it, but I clocked up a good 40-50 hours in this.

Toss a coin for your witcher?

  • I know this has possibly been posted elsewhere, but could someone clarify the DRM and the launcher if I get this?
    - Is it completely DRM free?
    - Do I have to use a launcher at all? I'd like to just have a standalone installer, etc like the old days.

    • +2

It's DRM free. You just need to download the entire game and the download basically installs the game. After that you can just click on the exe the good old fashioned way without any launcher.

  • Still cant get past the first Werewolf.

Ok, you guys talked me into it, I'll give it a try. Thanks OP

  • Can someone please clarify for me - is Wild Hunt the 'vanilla' version, or do I need to download a vanilla version in order to play Wild Hunt?

    • Yes, Wild Hunt is the base game.
