  • Not bad.

  • Thanks OP.Just paid $6 for 90 Dettol disinfectant wipes at the local shit shop but will get these and pass them on to family…

    • it's sad that during a semi-disaster right now it exposes all the ugliness in people. they robbing you.

      • +2

It's probably their normal price. It is a local brick and mortar store vs a global corporate giant. Robbery? Not likely

  • +2

Last time I ordered these the pack size were 120 wipes even though the were advertised as 90 wipes

  • Best-smelling anti-bacterial wipes ever.

All of the Dettol ones by comparison smell really strange.

    • I find the Ajax ones smell pretty good.

  • -5

Can these be used to disinfect surfaces? More in concern with current coronovirus.

    • +2

      They are "surface wipes"

    • +1

Good for 99.9% but it's the 0.1% you should be worried about!

      • +2

        99.9% for the bacteria ONLY(E.coli, Salmonella, S.aureus)unfortunately

      • +3

YES YES YES!, Be eternally worried, constantly, get obsessive completely, especially about that 0.1% bacteria, those 0.1% have absolutely nothing else to do then hunt you down….Jesus Christ the world we live in.

      • ok seems like an ordinary anti-bacterial surface wipes.

    • -1

benzalkonium chloride cannot kill coronavirus fyi

    • 1:99 diluted bleach with a paper towel or a spray bottle is good enough

    • If you think you have coronavirus on your kitchen surfaces, I think it's too late

  • Thanks OP missed on the last one but bought one from this deal

  • Excellent thank you, OP

  • Why did I buy this? Oh well.

  • Are these flushable? Asking for a friend.

    • +10

There's really no such thing as "flushable wipes" (even those explicitly marketed as such) as they inevitably form blockages somewhere in the pipe network and damage (usually in 45-degree elbow joint fittings) and damage wastewater treatment equipment; that being said "a friend" of mine has flushed them numerous times without issue.

        • +4

Yes congratulations for repeating what I just said; the fact they can go down a toilet doesn't mean they won't cause a blockage further down the pipe network.

      • -1

There is no evidence to support this, what you are saying is an urban myth

    • +5

According to this, Sydney Water, 75% of sewer blockages involve wet wipes. Dont't flush them.

    • Not flushable, plus tell your friend I wouldn't want to use these to wipe his ass…

  • This is a great deal. I'm using these to wipe down my tongue three times a day.

    • +2

Spewing a lot of BS are you?

    • That explains a lot.

  • +3

Lemon Lime. Best flavour for sure.

    • …bitters

    • +1

flavour scent unless you're eating them.

  • Hand sanitizer/wipes sold out everywhere. So this has to be the next best thing? Double as toilet paper since that's selling out too

    • +1

Can you try this on yourself and tell us how it feels?

      • +1

I was wondering if people really do that. I suspect it would be….tingly. Anyway, these would not be something you would put down the toilet. Probably block it.

    • +1

don't put it in the toilet btw, put it in your bin.

    • I now make my own hand sanitizer. 26% of methylated spirit in my Palmolive liquid soap. Seems to work well. Why 26%? Well, the original formula of Listerine mouth wash has around 26.9% alcohol.

      • That won’t work against sars-cov-2. You want to aim for around 65%-70%.

  • can these be used to wipe hands?

    • +1

Not recommend if you have sensitive skin.

      • No, they just make them sort of sticky. Not recommended.

  • Do these have an expiry date?

    • August this year, pretty bummed.

  • Thanks OP! bought.

This is an alarming trend in current postings.

"…overuse of products like wipes, soaps and cleansers that contain these substances can lead bacteria to become resistant to our methods of extermination."…"I personally believe there isn't anything that good, hot soapy water can't clean,"
    - Assoc. Prof Donna Duberg assistant professor of clinical laboratory science at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Mo.

"…in hospitals, surfaces are not the primary source of bacteria that infect patients. Other patients and health care workers are the ones who transmit the most germs."…"It is hands that are the great transfer vehicle for bacteria from patient to patient,"..
    - Dr. William Schaffner, chair of the department of preventive medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine

"So the rising use of antibacterial wipes shouldn't overshadow the most important rule of hygiene: Wash your hands."

    https://abcnews.go.com/Health/Germs/story?id=4989093&page=1

Also, dry your hands thoroughly after washing.

And remember viruses and bacteria are an essential part of our world and without them we wouldn't exist and will quickly die out.

    • 100% agree. I feel that these antibacterial products only serve to make existing bacteria mutate to be stronger and effective against the antibacterial products. The best solution is to just wash your hands thoroughly with regular soap and water.

  • I can't remember the last time I wiped after a number 2 so I don't care if toilet paper sold out

    • Ew

    • Interesting…

    • Niceeeee

    • Weird flex but ok

    • Found the person with a Bidet, nice.

Still a few hand grade wipes left here - Wet Ones Be Fresh Value Pack, 80 Wipes https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B077K4QX8T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i…

  • Let me tell you why I bought six packs of these.I intend to keep them in my car and whenever I go to Woolworths and use a shopping trolley, whenever I use an ATM,whenever I push the necessary buttons on the Paid Parking machine etc.etc.I will wipe the offending surface with one of these wipes. So how about that? It's called being a responsible citizen….and "no" I'm not one of the paranoids who stormed the local discount Pharmacy and cleaned them out of the little bottles of alcohol based hand wash.

    • cool

    • +1

These don't kill coronavirus. And it would have been cheaper to simply wear disposable gloves.

    • +2

Probably should've gotten hospital-grade wipes. Good luck using 540 anti-bacterial wipes on a virus. It's good to be responsible but make sure you actually know what you are doing. Washing your hands with soap regularly is probably the most important and effective prevention method

    • 6 packs?

      The limit was 5

  • Same (<$1 more - $17.99) price at Costco

Mate you missed my point…it's about wiping down public facilities like the few I mentioned, not about personal hygiene like washing your hands. You could also do a lot worse than wipe down your computer keyboard at home and at work with these wipes. It's a damn sight better than doing nothing IMHO…..or wearing gloves etc.etc.

  • Thanks again OP. Received my order just now. :)

  • Mine arrived. 5 boxes in a HUGE box 21kg, they couldnt deliver it to the parcel locker so I had to pick it up at the post office.

Carried 18kg home. Such a treck, but worth it.

    • You bought 5x lots of these? = 30 packs of 90 Wipes (2,700 wipes)

      • Yes.

        • You'd be set for a few years surely.

          • @brandogs: I thought it was 1 pack per order LOL

            • +1

@Turd: you're sitting on a gold mine, now these are in demand lol
