Gold Coast Accommodation Recommendations Needed

Hello my family are planning a trip to the Gold Coast (and surrounds) for Sep holidays and wanted recommendations on good apartments that aren't insanely expensive, close to most attractions and have 24/7 reception. 2x adults, 2 kids, 5-6 nights. Where have you stayed and did you have a good experience?

Thanks in advance.

  • have 24/7 reception

Out of interest, what makes this a requirement?

    • Due to being stuck next to noisy guests on a couple of recent holidays - one was particularly unpleasant.

Well stay out of Surfers Paradise and surrounds then.

TBF Surfers is probs the seediest bit and noisiest

            @wiipantz: That’s why I love it

@Emerald Owl: Same lol. I'm probably the noisy guest next door that OP hates.

You rent a budget apartment in the Q1, you better expect a party on your floor lol.

  • Check out the Meriton apartments.

  • Most attractions are up the highway… you don't want to stay very close to those if you want a good holiday and to be close to the beach. Just look within, Surfers/ Broadbeach/ mermaid beach and possibly Southern Southport beachside. Or just stay at Seaworld which as a kid was great. In terms of recommendations I recommend using the hotels section here OZB or perhaps Airbnb as these things change and can be subject variables.

  • Mantra Towers of Chevron are highly recommended. Really enjoyed the stay there with comfortable apartment, great pool and plenty amenities including public BBQ, steam room/sauna etc. Shops around and very close proximity to the beach.

I was at the Towers of Chevron (Surfers Paradise) in November. Close to everything, even has a shopping centre downstairs. Apartment was clean and quite spacious. Only downside was that the windows were quite large and the curtains weren't great at blacking out the room so we were woken fairly early each morning.

Reception is 8am-8pm but I was there a week before schoolies started and never heard a peep from neighbors. Never even saw anybody on the same floor as me.
There is a train stop a quick 3-5 minute walk away which can get you to Currumbin, Pacific Fair and the theme parks.

For 7 nights in September with 2 adults 2 children I see prices around the $1100+ mark.

We stayed at Q1 last time we went, thought it was pretty good.

  • We are heading up on the 10th. We got a good apartment on Airbnb but they're booked out almost 8 months in advance.

12th floor is around $150 a night - fully booked.
September is pretty much booked excluding dates 18th - 27th - 39th floor $200 a night ocean view.

Lookup Peninsula Apartments - 5 Clifford St and look around. All the good apartments are snapped up quickly especially school holiday times.

  • We stayed at a Mantra up there. Had 24/7 reception was competitively priced. Or a breakfree is similar.

  • Cavill Avenue/Surfer’s Paradise are where basically all the partying is. Main Beach is near Sea World. Broadbeach and Burleigh Heads are good too.

    • +1

      +1 for Burleigh

  • Broadbeach for the family, Surfers to Party

  • I would choose somewhere on the beach between Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise, less traffic noise and no tram bells.
