[Melb] HTC repairers

So I dropped my HTC Desire HD and now my screen is broken. The actual glass of the screen isn't broken/cracked and the touch screen still works so it must be the layer under that… Firstly, does anyone know what that's called? Secondly, does anyone know a good place to get it fixed and approximately how much it would cost? Thanks. :(

    i believe there is only 2 layers.. first is the glass and 2nd is the digitalizer..
    i think a places will fix it, but if u want a proper repairer i think vodafone will fix it at the repair store in st kilda.. more expensive..
    i had a desire hd and needed the antenna cover replaced, they said it would be 100 bux =)

    There are three layers. The glass, digitizer (touch sensor) and the LCD. If the picture is affected in any way this is the LCD that has fractured.
    The three layers come fused together on the HD. We can replace this part for $149. We perform these repairs in our Sydney store. You can drop it into our Melbourne store and they'll send it up to Sydney for you. Google "iExperts". Otherwise, you can try the vodafone repair centre. Not too sure what they charge.

      Hi,
      I dropped my 3GS and now the screen is broken in the edges and also the backlight does not work(I can use the phone only under light.Any estimate as how much it will cost me?

    Thanks for the replies. I think I'll buy the parts off eBay and get someone to fix it. :)
