HP's 2020 update Spectre X360 notebook is $3,599 on their main site, but is $1,816 on their Corporate Employee Purchase Portal and Education Portal (thanks @doweyy).

As it's currently out of stock online, this can only be ordered by phone (hence no Cashrewards or Shopback). Once websites are updated with availability, cashback should work also, and has in the past with CEPP. There are also decent discounts on most items e.g. 3-yr next-day onsite accident cover care pack $600 $355

  • Call HP sales on 1300 308 231 and quote the CEPP prices for items you want
  • They may ask with corporate you work at but there's no real checks and HP agents don't want to lose a sale

    I have a HP Spectre Core i5 7th Gen (Silver one) 8gb RAM, from a couple of years ago, still a pretty good laptop, I dont use the convertible that much, only the touchscreen every now and then.
    Im contemplating whether to get an upgrade or not, as my laptop performance runs fine, except for the fan, just by using chrome and opening up multiple tabs, it feels as if its about to take off…but I got use to that after awhile, so doesnt really bother me anymore.

    So not sure whether the price is worth upgrading to, as its a damn good price drop, but at the same time my current laptop is ok, and may last another 2 years at the mostm with its current performance, but then again, if I get this one I'll be getting something thats a bit more future proof and for cheap.

    So I aint really sure :), any help?

    Btw, i notced that this new one is a bit thicker than the older models, can someone confirm this?

  • I registered with my government email address but it may take 3 business days to get a reply. I wish that I could get onto this asap. If I cannot purchase this via the government email address I would like to know how I can still get one. I don't need the large SSD. In the store is there an option for one that is smaller & if so what is the cost of it? Any help with getting this would be greatly appreciated. I was almost going to purchase one at full cost today.

    • When they ask you for a company email, use you @microsoft.com email as that company is affiliated to hp

    I made a post about this but it got taken down for some odd reason. Cbf to fix the post but this might appeal to some of us here who don't need i7 or 1tb storage.

      I just checked too. It looks like the CEPP site has been taken down for now. This happened last time when we OzB their redirect server with 3000 hits. HP contacted mods then, so it's possible they're discussing.

      I'll mark this deal as expired, and if I hear anything from mods or HP (or spot new deals), will post again. Hope a lot of you got the deal

  • Had a friend just advise HP confirmed 20th March delivery estimate by their automated email today. Hopefully others have similar delivery emails now

    • My order says it's cancelled, but HP support said it's still awaiting stock for the order. Has anyone else had this?

        Are you checking the status on the mobile website? I found the site janky when I ordered the EliteOne a while back, said cancelled on mobile but was still processing on desktop.

          The confirmation today was by email. Ordered a day before this post.

          I suspect that deal may not be offered again at that price. Downside of OzBargaining offers is sellers know they can charge more as demand was high. Amazon is a classic for that too.

          • @TheLurker: It was ordered just before Christmas so I just left it for a bit. Did eventually get a call from HP saying they ran out of stock and if I'd be okay with waiting on stock for the next generation of the same.

            Navigating their site on mobile was a terrible experience with nav buttons not doing anything, so I just chalked it up to a broken site. Sorry not much help here.

        • Yeah, that was it. Turned out that they, for no reason, cancelled my original unit that was set for March 20 delivery.

          Viewing the page on the desktop site shows that they have added a second unit that is awaiting stock allocation.

    How did that deal go? Did you get you're order cancelled. I'm curious. I called Monday and they were very defensive about the whole thing :)

  • Does anyone else have 2 orders when they check their account and have “delivery 1” and “delivery 2”? Both of them are different order numbers.

        • I bought a power adapter a couple of months ago. A week after delivery I got another email saying one was being shipped under another number. May be a systems glitch as I didn't get a second adapter, but 2 for 1 laptops is definitely a deal worth posting 😉

  • Haven't even received the laptop and I'm frustrated with HP.

    With my order, it was originally fine, and was allocated stock and delivery was estimated for March 20th. Then that was cancelled (HP support said it wasn't cancelled). Then a day later they added the laptop again, now it's allocated stock and set for April 3rd.

    Anyone else had this happen?

    • You probably got upgraded to next gen laptop

      HP are pretty good like that. When they ran out of stock for me they upgraded me to the next model but I did have to wait 2 months (saved $1500)

      • Isn’t this current one already next gen?

        • Next step up would be an elite dragonfly. Same spec but thinner machine. On these, only upgrade is 4k screen, but it does make it work harder and burns battery more

          • @TheLurker: don't those only have 8th gen cpus if I'm not mistaken?

            • @dontforgetcashback: Yeah, aside from the upcoming 15" 2020 refresh of the Spectre (which isn't on their site yet for pre-order), I don't think HP has anything more next gen than this model.

  • HP are a really really dodgy company! I ordered a OzBargain laptop, paid, and then was told it wasn't available. And then the fun (not!) started. They offered a replacement model, which I accepted. But then was told it would take 15 days. I agreed. But then after 15 days and no laptop I contacted them and told it would take another month! I cancelled the order and requested a refund. Another 2 weeks , and no refund, and I contacted them again to be told that the order had not been cancelled. So I cancelled it again. But when I rang their complaints I was told that it still hadn't been cancelled. To cut a long story short I have opened a Paypal dispute and reported them to Fair Trading but beware - they are really really dodgy!

      Make sure you only deal with a manager otherwise they send you in circles

      It took me 6 months to activate my warranty as they sent me to like ten different people

        100% this. Just keep escalating. If the manager is busy or in perpetual meetings, ask for a callback. If they miss the callback, call again and say they missed it and you want another. Never waste time with the general CSRs.

        With my order, they've now restored the original shipment date, and I'm likely going to get free extended warranty as they don't have much else I'm interested in.

    • Hey mate, I've ordered this laptop too and I haven't received mine yet. I was wondering if you had a working tracking number prior to receiving the delivery? I had to call them to get a tracking number (didn't get one with my shipment email) and it doesn't work on any tracking sites (confirmed it was the correct number a few times), its been nearly two weeks since the laptop has supposedly shipped too.
