BP Station/ Rewards

Hubby loves to pump petrol at BP against my will.
I'd prefer Costco but let's not go there….

BP was linked to his Velocity in the past, but yesterday it has disappeared.
I remember reading something about possibly Qantas is coming with them.
Have tried to google and look up their own website but to no avail.
Found Qantas offering a "BP Plus" Card which has a monthly fee. What the??

Hopeful that this OzB Community can help me out here and share some insight..

Thanks in advance!

The ability to earn Velocity points at BP stopped at the end of January.

    • Can confirm. I bought a $1 banana on the last day to keep my Velocity a/c active.

  • The new BP Rewards program for normal motorists which lets you earn BP Points or Qantas Points is yet to commence. More info here: https://www.bp.com/en_au/australia/home/products-services/re…

The BP Plus Card you refer to is a fuel card for businesses which is available now with the ability to earn qantas points.

    • Yes, the BP Rewards card is not ready, and they have cancelled Velocity.
      And they have nothing currently…

Not really interested in paying monthly to get the BP Plus..

  • What a shame! I wonder why they turfed Velocity?

    • Dunno, but they're not the only one. Wilson Parking also turfed Velocity and there's another company, but I can't remember which one it is

    • A change in their commercial arrangement, initiated by one of the two parties.

Rewards will launch in late March with the ability to earn Qantas Points
    will be
1 Point per Litre for ULP/LPG/Diesel
2 Points per litre for 95PULP/98PULP
1 Point per $ spent in store

Was meant to launch in January but been some delays
Registration will start in the coming weeks.

    • Interesting that it will be points/litre, not points/$ for fuel.
Are the majority of BP stations the same price?

Points per Litre means less points handed out I suppose.
$100 of fuel might only be 70 litres of Fuel.

Around me the main ones tend to be same price.
The largest single franchisee of BP in Australia is a company called AA Petroleum and they set their site pricing.

the smaller ones I notice tend to be a bit pricer.

        • Gee, there'd be more work in doing this points/litre.
They can just do with lowers points/$.

Will keep an eye out for end of March.

          Thanks for sharing.
