  • Ask your solar company if they can

    • did ask them as well, they will check with the installer. just thought i also check what are my other option to compare $ as well. thanks!

  • In a perfect world, you would attach the mat to the back of the solar panels, it could cool them for better efficiency and heat the water at the same time.

  • Removing the old mats is pretty straight-forward but you are going to need a plumber to cut-off and seal the piping to/from the pool and to/from the mats.
If the pump for the solar is just a plug-in job that's fine. if hardwired you will need an electrician.

  • +1

Yes I had that done, paid an extra $200-300 bucks to the solar installers and they were happy to remove it. Cant remember 200 or 3

    • they checked the installer they dont do this , guess will keep looking

  • Did mine DIY. It was already disconnected by previous owner because it was leaking. It was stuck to the tiles with silicon or similar and I just pulled at it and it came off fairly easily. Was heavy and very messy as the black rubber was deteriorating and got everywhere. Hardest part was not getting onto and not falling off the roof, but ours is very steep
