oh I was going to buy the Trine complete edition (1-4) for around $55 but this seems good. only diff is resale :S what to do?!?1

    • Just buy and the enjoy the games mate :)

      • not very ozb tho

        • Hahaha very true! I'm going to pick up these digital copies anyway - I've been migrating my physicals to digital for portability.

The collection only includes 4 as a physical (unless you get an import).

Better off looking at the Trine 4 physical standalone copy (EB has/had for $28) and then considering if you'd like the rest. 1, 2 and 4 are all 2.5d puzzle platformers whereas 3 went 3d and apparently suffered as a result (at least according to critical reception).

      • Did not realise! Thanks for pointing that out. I'll jump on this then and add to my switch backlog…

  • I played Trine 1 on PC ages ago and liked it .. so I'm interested in the others. However my 'thumb' fine control is not great (theres a reason I mainly play platformers and not FPS on consoles). I remember having to sometimes quickly 'draw' boxes etc to cast spells .. I'm wondering how well these actually play on a controller based system?

    • Not sure but perhaps they allowed touch control as well to draw shapes,

    • It's fine. I played through #1 no drama. Quick thumbs might help you get some things a little sooner when laying boxes and planks with the wizard.. but we're talking maybe < 1% of the upgrade vials, which in practical terms means you might not have to replay a couple of levels for that last bottle you couldn't get the first time through. Don't need fast thumbs for a fights. Caveat: I'm surprised you felt it is an issue, I think the game truly doesn't require anything be done quickly, so YMMV.

In #2 the levels are a bit drawn out, general design philosophy may have changed, could be a different experience. The levels were too long and I didn't bother to keep going after a couple of them.

  • That's a great deal. Just buy #1. If you like it, when they come on sale again, buy another.

I hadn't played any and bought the hardcopy collection. Played #1, then #2 put me off (level design changed, became too long)

  • Scrolling pass and saw clusterfu*K. Had to double check

  • Is it worth getting The Escapists after The Escapists 2?
