QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q. Why are you giving away this device for free?
A. US Cars are on average 11.8 years old1, and the fatality rate is four times higher in those old vehicles. As the leading connected car company in the US, nonda is committed to protecting people's journey behind the wheel through innovative products and technology. To deliver our social commitment and growing our business at the same time, we've decided to give away 1,000,000 FREE nonda Smart Vehicle Health Monitors to boost American Drivers' safety.
Q. Would the Smart Vehicle Health Monitor drain my vehicle battery?
A. All Vehicles' OBD II ports have constant power supply even if the engine is turned off. No matter what OBD II adapter you are using, it'll drain your vehicle battery eventually if you don't drive for a long time;
Our New Smart Vehicle Health Monitor Lite is the smallest one in the market and only requires 5-8mA of power to run. It is 100% safe to leave it plugged in if you drive your car frequently. However, we highly recommend that you unplug this device if you won't drive your vehicle for a long time, just like you'll unplug all appliances when you leave home for long vacations.
Q. Do I need to pay shipping for the free device?
A. Yes you do. We use USPS first-class package shipping for US orders and standard postage package mail for international ones. You only need to pay the same amount of what our shipping provider charges us.
Q. Is there any hidden fees in using the device?
A. No, there isn’t. After you receive the free smart vehicle health monitor, you can download our free ZUS Smart Driving Assistant App and start to use it simply by pairing the device with the app. All the functions mentioned above are 100% free with no catch.
Q. Will you collect my vehicle data, and what will you do about it?
A. We'd only collect your engine and trip data with your consent. All data collected will be solely used to enhance your driving safety and experience without any privacy breaching. nonda is a GDPA and CCPA compliant entity.

  • No update on my order as well.

  • No update and not received (Sydney)

  • Ordered on Feb 26, nothing. Is this spam?

  • Nothing here either. When is PayPal money back an option?

    • +1

Have you contacted them asking where things are up to?

      • That's far too sensible. I don't come to ozb for sensible comments ;)

Got mine yesterday, seems to work well, no issues detected yet :)

Not received here in Sydney. Contacted them 10 days ago and they said delays in shipping. May go the paypal refund route if I don't receive next week.

  • Still haven't received. In Sydney. Ordered on 29th Feb

  • Apparently with so few international flights at the moment the cost of air freight has gone through the roof. Expect a delay of months.

    • Aren't Airfreight (non commercial) flights business as normal?

      • With so few international flights there's a lot more demand for air freight. Prices have rocketed upwards.

  • All the email notifications I get from nonda are for their face masks xD…was kinda thinking this was a scam.

    • Same here… up until now it's seems to have been at the very least, a very lucky dip!
Have to watch the PayPal refund cut off date, if that even works, never needed to use it before.

I received mine a few days ago. I had completely forgotten about it

Just received mine, just a heads up. I was just wondering about battery drain so took a look at their forums and there are a number of people complaining about the units catching fire or completely draining the cars battery. I might hold off plugging this into my car for now.

    • Mine drained but it took a while, either that or battery was on its way out. Battery indicator is green though… Waiting for RACQ to report back. I assume flat battery…

  • Still nothing (Perth, WA), 30 business days from shipment date finish this Friday. Here's hoping it arrives by then.

  • Was wondering if anyone has received yet? I have not received anything

    • Read above?

  • I'm from Melbourne, still have't received mine yet.

  • Already filled my PayPal money back request

Took our details, and money, and then went missing. This seller should be banned for life. I've reported to the mods.

    • Banned for life really?. Many of us have received and is more about their slow and crap shipping. I bet it arrives with you in the end. Have you attempted to contact them as a follow up?
Worst case just ask for a refund. Banned for life is only for places that genuinely rip you off and take your money. There is no indication that these guys are doing anything like this and their communications are very good. As for slow crap shipping, well yes it is like many others :-)

  • No word from Nonda. Coming up on two months now. Time to email them and then request a PayPal charge back if the product isn't in transit.

  • +1

I posted on their facebook page and they responded like this
"Hello, xxxx! We're sorry to hear that you have yet to receive your order. Our logistics team are now investigating your package, and we have refunded the shipping fee that you paid for this giveaway product as a token of our apology. Rest assured that you will still receive your order."
I have not received the shipping yet at the time of writing this.

The email from late February stated the product would ship within 2 days. Almost 2 months later, no package, and the Nonda site says the product will be shipped within 3 to 5 days. It has stated that for the past 2 weeks.

I've emailed the company asking if they will ship this week, as otherwise I want a refund. I know it's only $7, but it's $7 they're not entitled to.

I received a quick reply, but it seems to be a canned answer and very confusing.

"Due to the massive ordering and the outbreak of the new coronavirus disease, the air freight capacity has been dramatically reduced from government restriction across the globe, with the prolonged process of customs clearance and cargo investigation together, it will take about 25-30 business days for the product to arrive in your hands. We would like to sincerely apologize for the dispatch time.."

Okay… but according to Nonda's site the product hasn't shipped yet, so the above is irrelevant.

"If you still haven't received it, it's likely that the carrier lost the package. We'd like to offer you a resend of the product. We can refund it as well if you can no longer wait."

But Nonda hasn't sent the product yet, or has coronavirus affected Nonda's ability to update the status on their web site?

"We are sorry to cause you any inconvenience, you may reply to me with your willingness to get a 10% coupon. We really appreciate your support for us and hope you can wait a little bit longer. Thank you."

Wait… so now I'm being offered a 10% discount coupon? I thought the offer was to resend the product or get a refund…

  • So I opened a PayPal dispute as I haven't received it yet. They replied with "We are asking you for your PayPal account's email address or Pay Pal.me Link so we can directly refund your order, instead of doing it using our store's platform due to an issue.

Your order was placed using xxxxxxxxxx.com, but does not guarantee that it is your PayPal's email address.

If you can provide us with your PayPal account's email address, we can immediately arrange your order's refund.

We ask for your cooperation on this matter. Now Paypal say they should have all your info and they are waiting from Nonda's reply. Is it normal for them to ask for my account address or Pay Pal.me link?

  • I got my refund through today. I only contacted them 2 days ago. They said they would still be shipping the order, but I won't hold my breath.

  • It has been 50 days since they posted my item, 60 since i ordered the item with no luck. I've been messaging them every now and then throughout this process and i sent them a message today asking about the situation and what it going on. Nonda quickly replied letting me know that they are sorry and they have raised my case to their logistics team to coordinate with courier about the where this item may be / have gone. They also fully refunded the shipping for the item. Very good customer service and they've shown this many times. Just crappy shipping unfortunatly.

  • I've had nothing but trouble with this mob, they wouldn't respond to any of my queries. Had to escalate the issue with paypal, they immediately supplied a tracking number to paypal which may or may not be legit. Situation is still unfolding, not sure why they have been helpful to some and not to others

    • Same here

    • same here. Raised dispute with Paypal and will escalate soon if i dont hear back from them.

    • Paypal dispute settled in my favor, not a peep from nonda.I would have a laugh if it still turned up, fingers crossed.

      • Arrived today LOL!

  • Received a similar reply, they claim 'the carrier likely lost the package'. I can't prove it of course but I'm 99% sure they never sent it to begin with. They offered a resend of the product (why would you offer that so willingly), I will claim money back later if this falls through as well.

I put my enquiry on the 27th and received a reply on that same day…. [email protected]

emailed the below and attached a snippy of the order confirmation.

    Hi,
I ordered the Smart Vehicle Health Monitor Mini on February 27th.
Up until now, i haven't received the parcel. I thought i'll give it a month or two to arrive here in Australia but up until now there is still no update and you guys have not provided a tracking number for the parcel. I even downloaded the app "Arrive" to try tracking it.
Please give me a tracking number that i can actually track or if not, please start the process of refunding money back to my card.
    Hoping for your prompt response.
    Thank you

    this is their response:

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We apologize for the delay in your giveaway product (ZUS Smart Vehicle Health Monitor) due to the high amount of orders we are receiving and due to the stricter procedures because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

We have now raised your case to our logistics team so that they can coordinate with the courier (Post) and ensure the delivery of your package, and we have also fully refunded the shipping fee that you paid as a token of our apology.

Again we apologize for this delay, and thank you for extending your patience and understanding with us. Have a nice evening.

Refund was processed yesterday, the 28th.

  • Hey guys, like yourselves I applied and got the refund. However, got a surprise in the mail today and found my package so I got it for free. So heads up you can expect some to still arrive when it was purchased some 65 odd days ago… lol

    • interesting..did you get any shipping confirmation or acknowledgement of any shipping being made?

      • No I did not. Which was weird because I didn't even get the email to say it had been shipped and when I asked the question they come back with saying in their conditions there is no tracking because it was free (technically you just paid for the product) But PayPal had 0 issues refunding me and then it came a few days after. If you go to their FB page and quote your order number in a comment on a post of theirs they generally say they'll refund you and keep the product if it does arrive or not you at least get your money back.

  • Hi all, just wanting to confirm there is still hope!

I received this today in the mail. I'm in the Sydney Metro Area. Package came directly from Nanning, China.

    Good Luck all.

  • Got mine yesterday (7 May), CN post small packet by air. 66 days since ordering. Hang in there…

    • So there IS some hope!
      Thanks for the update.

  • Completely forgot about this thing, just filed a PayPal dispute.

  • Finally got mine

  • got mine last week.ordered on 26th Feb

  • I got mine a couple of days ago.

  • By the way, the deal is back for another 2hrs 16mins !! Free, just pay shipping.

    • Order now for delivery on 13 July (2020)…

  • I literally checked this thread last night. Arrived today. Ordered late Feb.

  • Mine finally arrived as well! Came on the 7/5/20, looks like it was drop shipped from China.

  • Ordered with everyone else in February and just arrived today, drop shipped from China. To be honest, I had said goodbye to that nearly $5.

  • Still waiting for mine. 81 days and counting. Nonda allegedly sent another one three weeks ago but at this rate who knows. They can always blame the lack of air mail. Hint: it would have been much faster to ship it via sea mail.

  • Finally got a refund. PayPal sided with me, they sent some tracking number but I bet it was bogas

  • I received a paypal refund today (filed on 5th May), no other communication from NoNDA. Still no sign of the product. Their Facebook reply told me they are sending another one but I'm not holding my breath.

    • I received mine today.

  • Finally got it today (Sydney)

  • Mine arrived today. "Small packet by air" Hot air balloon?

  • …and mine arrived in the post today (Melb). Personally I think they handled this fairly well given that I suspect a lot of the delay was outside their control due to COVID etc. I got a full refund, and eventually the item actually turned up.

  • got a refund cuz i thought it was Lost in Transit. it actually arrived yesterday…

  • What do you know - it turned up today - gave up on this a long time ago.
    Shipped from China.
Prior to this the only thing I got was spam.

  • Ordered on 28-Feb (Received today on 10-Jun) 103 days to deliver from China

  • Same. Recevied mine yesterday too. Came from China. It just sound strange to touch parcels now from China.

  • Samesies! I had no idea what it was for a few seconds! Now just to Google what it is and how to use it hahaha

  • I received mine today. Device works as advertised on a 2015 Hyundai i30. App keeps asking me to give it access to photos and manage phone calls. No thanks.

My initial order was lost or never sent. This package was sent late April and took 6+ weeks to arrive from China.

Works as advertised. Doesn't really give many details about the car/engine. Just says everything is fine. Shows coolant temp, which is nice I guess, but that's it.

  • Received mine today. Ordered late April.

Does anyone know if this is read-only? Don't want it messing with the electronics after plugging it in - probably should've checked before I ordered. haha

  • A second device arrived in the post today. I requested they resend the package in late April as I assumed the first one was lost. Not so. So it really did take over three months for air mail to reach me, and the second package took six weeks. I'll give the second unit away to a friend.

  • Got mine yesterday.
