A classic Islay Malt, One of the great Islay producers. The barley used to distil Lagavulin is malted at nearby Port Ellen and has a strong peat aroma - it has perhaps twenty times as much exposure to peat smoke as a typical Speyside.

One for the peat fanciers, this Islay benchmark is big and powerful. Iodine and smoke dominate sweet spice aromas while vanilla and oak character develops on the palate. Mouth coating and muscular, this brute finishes long, dry and smoky.

      I doubled up and got 2 bottles of the Offerman and have almost finished 1. I'm not sure it beats the 16, but you'll love it none the less.

      When I visited Islay last year I did the warehouse tasting with Ian McArthur (who served Ron Swanson in the Parks & Rec episode when Swanson visited Islay). Ian said I'd missed Nick Offerman by 2 days. Nick was at the distillery helping them choose the flavour of the Offerman Edition.
