Event Cinemas Half Price Tickets Every Tuesday

    It's only for adult tickets.

Does not apply for kids, students, concession card holders, war veterans.

    • +3

      Thanks JV updated title

    • +1

      jv's comment didn't warrant negs.

For example at my local, I'll be able to see a movie for $5 whilst my daughter would cost $8. The comment is informative.

      • +2

why wouldnt you just buy your daughter an adult ticket for $5?

  • Does anyone know if this applies to Village cinemas also?

    • +4

It's highly likely that someone knows…

      • +1

But will they share this knowledge?

    • I found this offer for Village. $20 Gold Class tickets for this week.

  • +2

Local Gold Class here says $21
    $13.50 Vmax, $11 Standard

    • Are they the standard or half price prices? Haven't been to Event for a while

      • +2

        Half price…

        • +4

Cheers, can't believe a standard ticket is usually $22!

          • @Benjamin7711: You mustn't have been to the cinema since ten 90s then.

            • @[Deactivated]: Nah we just never pay full price

I use Optus or Telstra and pay $12.5 or $15 max I think

Did Scoopon yesterday at 9.99 Hoyts + 10% cashback

            • @[Deactivated]: You mustn't have been to a reading cinema recently.

          • @Benjamin7711: 22 sounds pretty good for 2020 prices, wait till see the concession's

            • @wiipantz: Lol they ended up being $23 at my local + $1.50 booking fee each. Guess I'll keep going to Cineplex for $8.50 anytime!

  • +5

My local (Glendale NSW) is only $10 standard. $5 movies is a great deal!

    • I just looked up 1917 at Glendale but it's still only $10…

  • +12

$3.50 booking fee for Gold Class is a rort. No wonder cinemas are losing numbers.

At least let me get into the cinema before being shafted.

    • just take the ticket to them and book in person thats what i do.

for 2 people its like $6 or 7 extra - crazy

      • $10 something for myself and 2 friends to book online.

    • +1

Wait til you go and buy popcorn!

      • +1

At least you can byo food

      • That's what I mean by the last sentence. It is a terrible business models to screw people over before they walk in the door, you lose customers.

Wait until people have to be there because they bought a ticket and then gauge them on money.

  • Is vic excluded on this one also?

    • Vic only has one place.moonlight cinema

    • Only TAS is excluded.

    • Should have elaborated by saying it excludes village cinemas in vic then?

  • +9

Went yesterday to gold class 2 for $40 deal. Nearly hit the ceiling when they wanted like a $7 online booking fee. If anything they should be charging more for walk ins. More online booking means less staff they need to employee in all cinemas. Doesn't make any sense

    • +2

It's because a special gold class employee is required to complete your transaction, he or she has undergone extensive training in the art of gold class business strategies

      • +1

Hahaha lol. Nah but when I went in, there was no one there to scan my ticket or anything. Just walked right in. Literally had no employee interaction at all, and they dare to charge more for it??

        • +2

I always check the seats online then do it in person with these tickets for no fee

You can even go a day early or a week early to get best seats

        • +3

Your comment reminded me of something else. As a teen I, like most probably, snuck into the odd movie or 2. But in those days they actually employed staff to check tickets so there was a chance of being caught. Gold class may be different but nobody checks the standard rooms at either of my locals. I wonder how many just walk in without any tickets. I'm not encouraging this behavior of course, but I always wonder who around me is watching a free movie.

That reminder reminds me of something else, a few years ago I remember Woolies saying they were happy with the x% of shoplifting or fake scanning through their self serve checkouts but they admitted the savings of less staff was much a larger saving. They were well in front and didn't care. Maybe the cinema scene is the same.

          • @Click_It: I've noticed lately that there isn't even anybody between the lobby and the cinemas who checks the tickets.

Used to be that somebody would stand and tear the butt off your ticket as you passed through.

          • @Click_It: Totally agree, I always pay but walk in thinking why… they have NO STAFF checking tickets anymore and maybe 2 on any any one time… I know they are struggling to make money in most cinemas it will be another retail outlet to shut some stores before you know it.

With the coronavirus around, cinema is one of the place I will not go. Go there at your own risk

    • +1

dude it's free - you cannot say no to a corona

Once you get it once you will be immune anyway FOR LIFE and you can have all the cute asian girls you want with zero risk.

The sooner we become immune the better my friend

      • +1

If you go Gold Class, they will even bring you a Corona.

    • coronavirus

Officially, now called COVID-19. Stands for "Corona Virus Disease 2019"

      • Can we get a Wuhan virus section for deals related to? Like Black friday.

    • Technically, it's A coronavirus, not the coronavirus.

  • Lol half price adult movie tickets

    • Wow what kind of adult movies!

      • +1

Didn't think that was how Event rolls but you learn something new every day.

        • Let the freaky times roll

          With…

          Frea Tronic water

          • @AussieMark: May improve your physical performance! May not be used bathwater! May or may not increase your probability of committing war crimes in over 13 Arab nations!

FYI, It isnt for just NA and TAS, can confirm it is valid for QLD as well, atleast at Chermside.

    • Opps, haha. Bit of a a braim fart there.

  • Iā€™m going to try out 4DX with this offer as far as I am aware there are no other discounts for it.

Standard and VMax can get cheaper through other offers

  • +2

When I was young we used to call this tight-arse Tuesday. Nice to see it back again.

    • Is that because stretch denim jeans were in fashion then?

    • Did TAT go away? Damn… it's be a while for me!

  • I'd rather watch one of the thousands of movies or series I have at home.

    • netflix and chill?

  • My wife and son went to cheap Tuesday at our local cinema the other night. It was effectively voluntary isolation as they were the only ones there! Whole cinema to just them.
