Starting University and Need a New Laptop (Budget $1100- $1250)

I'm doing Software Engineering and have no idea what to get. I start uni next week and I have a budget of around $1100-$1250 so if anyone has any recommendations on what to get for around that with good battery life and good performance. I'm not aiming to game other than playing the Binding of Isaac or Minecraft.

  Personally I'd go for one the Dell business systems with their 3 year next business day on-site support.

  Their factory refurnished unit look as-new.

  Great battery life on both as they come spec'd with the largest batteries Dell offer for the model.
