And the 'reward' is $10 movie ticket to a selected movie of the week, that then has surcharges on top for any of the other movie types (lux, extreme etc), plus booking fees.

Agreed Hoyts are very stingy with their discounts but in my area I do notice they have nicer facilities than the competition.
Plus the Movie of the Week selection is terrible. We missed out on using ours last year due to the times (mainly during the day) and usually 1 or maybe 2 movies to pick from. It’s got better since then but not sure if I’ll renew this year.

It used to be $10 a year and you got a free ticket to any movie (which was worth about $20 so well worth it). They changed it to this about 2 years ago but didn't tell anyone. I found out once I renewed and felt massively ripped off. They wouldn't refund either (after I had only paid a couple of days earlier).
In short, this isn't a deal it's their usual price and it's a terrible deal.

It's worth signing up to the free rewards card. You get QFF points and Hoyts points (which you can use to buy a free ticket) + digital tickets.
Price?
