  • Thanx…ice cream time…

  • Printed it out the last time it was available (in January), took it to Lygon Street and was flat out rejected by the shop. The lady just said "I know nothing about this" and she was the only one there (no manager). I just tore up the paper and went to one of 10 other gelato shops.

Hopefully they have educated their employees better this time.

Small tip in these circumstances, write a letter to the store manager or franchise owner expressing your disappointment and customer service as this input/feedback is extremely valuable. You never know they may reimburse you (plus more) for the effort and feedback.

It really sucks when you present a 'printed voucher' from ther internet and then the sales person thinks you're doing a dodgy deal with a 'photocopy-like-print-out', questions it, asks different staff members and holds up the customer service queue and doesn't know how to enter it in the register - In the meantime you end up being red faced and feeling like a dill as the other customers are huffing and puffing cos it took so long….. Again, write a letter to management about the disappointing customer service when this happens as their promotional offers are not working and made you feel so uncomfortable during the process.

The situation is different if it was a fancy printed glossy flyer……

    • I too would complain — but refusing to buy an ice cream because your voucher is rejected makes you look cheap and if you were really hanging out for an ice cream then walking away empty handed can really make you disappointed!
I have had stores reject vouchers before (cough Subway Macquarie Centre (previous management)cough) and it really sucks!

  • Not really, I think there're grounds to complain in this case, if you can be bothered. :P It says "feel free to forward this voucher to your family & friends so that they too can take advantage of this offer". I'm going just to see how they have 16 chocolate flavours..XD

  • Yeah I think it was just a case of miscommunication between the shop and their staff. I did express my displeasure and told her to go on their shop's own website to check it out but she just gave me a no.

I could've complained afterwards but it wasn't really worth the effort. Maybe I'll give them another chance this time and see how it goes.
