Has Anyone Had Cashrewards Report The Wrong Amount?

Bought a Dell Inspiron last night for about $1800.

Used Cashrewards which should've given me a 3.5% cashback, and would probably get me about $60.

It tracked the transaction but says it was only $239 and only gave me $8.

Seems bizarre to me. This is the only thing I've bought from Dell - has anyone experienced this?

  • I've experienced something similar with Shopback, just got in touch with them and they managed to fix it all up.

    • I am yet to have CR report the wrong amounts, they are the better of the two mains ones when it comes to tracking sales and correctly applying rates etc imho

    Hi witsa. This is almost certainly related to the recent tracking issues Dell had where both cashback sites were asked to drop to 0% while Dell investigated. Seems there could still be a problem and we've already made Dell aware that the issues may be unresolved. Please PM me your CR email address and will have this looked at and sorted right away.       I am curious more than anything. I would assume it would either not be tracked or tracked with the right amount - not just a seemingly random amount!

  • I had this happen with Cashrewards and Dell in the Boxing Day sale. I complained. Cashrewards has investigated and corrected it and sent me an email confirming that in their view it was an error, but warning that Dell would still have to approve the corrected amount. Due to be paid March 30.

    • UPDATE: It was NOT paid on March 30. Cashrewards site says "Overdue". I've emailed Cashrewards asking what is going on and when I can expect to be paid.

        • Update: TA looks to have sorted this. Thank you. It has been changed to "Approved" on Cashrewards and I've been able to put in the "Get Paid" request to receive the funds.

  • I had same issue when it was 12% CR. Only paid me something like 7% but CR rectified situation after a review and paid the difference.

  • Yeah had an issue where Step One was meant to be 14% but CR only credited 7%, I messaged them and they said they would look into it. Forgot about it till I saw this post! Looks like something is up as they're showing as 0% cashback now and my status is overdue.

  • Yes, just had that issue today. Bought approx 80bucks worth of stuff but CR only tracked for a quarter of the amount. I pressed the "support enquiry" button immediately but somehow it won't let me send a message, so I've just sent an email and am hoping for the best. Never had this happen before.

        • Hi. No need for a PM. I can assure you that after a few hours, your cashback will auto-adjust to the correct amount. Some stores behave this way with reporting when you purchase multiple SKUs in the same order. Please check your acct later and let us know :)

            • @Ayami109: Hi TA, here for an update. Glad to say that the system has updated to the full amount now.

              I noticed it happened slowly over many hours, gradually increasing. If not for the information in your original reply, I would had been very confused as to why the amounts kept changing! But yeah, all good now that I know what to expect!

  • Just placed an online order for Vintage Cellars for $124 of wine with click and collect to take advantage of the 10% bonus cashback currently going for online orders (which includes click and collect orders). It tracked as being 'in-store' so I only got a 1% rate.

    I then got a mysterious 1% cashback on a $20 purchase as well (which I didn't make).

    Anyway, have reported it to customer service…
