    I used these type of thongs but they never went the distance for me. Kept pulling the toe plug out. I wear thongs 60 to 70 percent of the time. I found "archies" and have never looked back. They are a one piece design with an arch. Just bought my 2nd pair. The first pair lasted me over 2 years. They are more expensive at around $30 but well worth it if you wear thongs a lot.

      if you're feeling stingy, you can put a bread clip around the toe plug under the thong to get some extra mileage out of them

      Havaianas went to shit years ago. They must have changed where they manufacture them or something. I had similar problems with the stem always just breaking in half so I gave up and bought some Merrells. My wife calls them old man shoes but they are comfy as hell so I don't care.

    I have noticed something when I bought a pair from Aldi, the toe plug and the other two plugs did not fit properly in their holes like the Havaianas sold in surf shops, at double the price, do. Could they be factory seconds the ones sold at $10 or less?
