Just wondering why because I would like to utilise the dual sim functionality on my iPhone.
I thought it would be cheaper for vendor to produce than sending actual sim card.

What about telcos that don't have shops, like Catch Connect or Kogan Mobile?
You get what you pay for.
Not true, not for prepaid.
If you’re already with Vodafone on a postpaid or prepaid plan, you’ll need to swap your current SIM through our SIM swap process and follow the steps below with your eSIM enabled phone.

Telstra also do it as a colleague just got one transferred over in-store to keep his physical abroad card too.
Thanks mate, I'll do that
If you look on whirlpool several people have Telstra prepaid esim. They’re the only Telco doing it though.
Edit - and Vodafone too by the looks of Hybroids comment.
Any idea if they can do something similar with a Cellular Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch?
Unfortunately all the Telcos only offer it for smart watches on post paid plans. There’s no way to get it with prepaid yet.
Vodafone does it too, just got one the other week.
They're the same as SIM plans. Pop into a shop and they'll transfer regular SIM plan to eSIM with a special QR code.
