@chepsk8: Really? I thought it was terrible!
@timthetoolman: I really liked it!
@timthetoolman: Same I didn't like it. Narcos Mexico is good though. Ottoman empire isn't too bad too.
Amazon Prime $7 mth … Man in the High Castle series = awesome!
Bad boys 3 was good if you're into those sort of movies
Your kids young enough to see Sonic?
Yeah, but they prefer youtube.
Stopped going to Hoyts when they stopped having children or student tickets. Charged the kids full adult price on a weekday.
Stopped going to Hoyts when they stopped having children
what ???
Thank God for that. Nothing worse than there being a rowdy bunch of kids whilst I’m trying to watch a film. I hope there are a bunch of parents that followed your example.
Went to a 9pm session of bad boys 3, at reading's Titan (more speakers) and heard a baby cry in the middle of the session.
I'm a parent myself and I was just flabbergasted
(flabbergasted doesn't get used nearly enough these days)
flabbergasted Is a good word. I’m a particular fan of the word “whilst”.
In the words of Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy
“surprise is no longer adequate and he is forced to resort to astonishment”.Apart from anything else the noise level in those films is horrendous. What idiot takes a baby in there.
@try2bhelpful: The kind whose baby refuses to drink anything other than fresh-out-of-the-boob milk?
My youngest was like that. He would rather starve than drink anything else.Even half-asleep he could tell the difference between the fresh stuff and the re-heated one. My wife had to take him with her wherever she went. He was a happy baby with big dimples that he used to flash at everyone who would look at him.So no one ever objected to the Boobie-Monster's presence.
@[Deactivated]: Hopefully, It’s unlikely you would’ve taken your baby to a loud violent movie. When I was a kid the local cinema had a crying room so people could watch the film in a soundproof room with a speaker. Mind you it wasn’t a thx sound system. more like a drive in speaker.
@try2bhelpful: No loud, violent movies although my wife did fly business class* with him ex MEL to CDG once. They were promptly upgraded to first class on both legs.
@[Deactivated]: some people have the luck. I hope she enjoyed it immensely, although, if she was breastfeeding she would've missed out on the nice alcohol.
@try2bhelpful: Boobie-Monster is the one with all the luck. About a year later, I took him to meet my father who was very sick. He and I got upgraded to First class on that trip too. His siblings have only ever traveled premium economy or economy.
@[Deactivated]: Maybe I need to show them pictures of my kitties :). I hope you enjoyed the trip.
@[Deactivated]: Boob is best, though. My little brother is youngest of five so everytime one of the rest of us came down with something Mum’s doctor would tell her to just keep feeding him. He was breastfed until he was 2 years old.
flabbergasted
It was popular back in the 18th century, where it was a fashionable slang term. You're showing your age Spack :p
@[Deactivated]: Not age, just breadth of vocabulary.
Was that on a Tuesday?
if you have a (free) Hoyts rewards membership you have access to discounted tickets. their tiered ticket price means that a 'standard' session of a particular movie playing on Saturday night may be available at a 'saver' or 'super saver' session if playing on say, a Monday day or Wednesday night. so yes, their ticket prices vary between movies and sessions and are a flat rate for all but you can literally always check ticket prices in advance on their website or app.
Not sure how this is really a deal, they had this (or better), jacked up the prices and now are just un-jacking them.
My local cinema is $11 every day for standard sessions.. and they've just added recliners. Tough choice.
Enjoy your local cinema, then, keep them in business.
Definitely, given it used to be a Hoyts and I'd prefer it to not change back :)
Our local Reading charges the same prices, but it's good to have choice :)
Thanks. Prefer hoyts to events after the latter tried to cheapen my gift cards
Has this expired?
Any good movies on?
