Love the Penfolds Kalimna Bin 28 ( as well as it's cozen Bin 128 ),

although preferred it when you could get them on special for under $15 a bottle in the early 90's when I worked in wine stores lol.

Would you prefer the same salary as well? lol

      • This wine as well as other wine, beer, food, petrol, rent etc etc have more than doubled since then, not the minimum or wage that over 50% of all Australians earn.

Know the feeling. I got onto the free Reidel glasses and the wine cabinet deal by buying a bunch of Bin 28s for, roughly, $16.

Haha, so I'm not the only one getting older and missing good old times lol.

Oh hell yah. Man, I could not afford to buy my place in Fitzroy, anymore. Wages have not kept up with some costs. Then again the cost of flying has gone down.

@try2bhelpful: Yeah, not wrong. Cost of flights gone down only whilst other countries wages are still low.

The main people who can regularly fly are either young working people who don't pay much

rent/morgage if their sharing, people lucky enough to have paid off their mortgage,

people with high incomes, maybe gay people without kids, the rich crew etc.,….

you get the idea. I'm none of the above, so no more B28 nor flying for me lol.

@ozhunter68: We don’t fly much but we have flown a little bit since the 80s. Fortunately a lot of our earlier travel was on the coin of various companies. However, our round the world tickets, in 2000, cost us about double what they cost now. We’ve paid of our mortgage and have travelled a little bit in the last few years. We managed to luck onto the round the world Virgin business class for $3500. Mostly our two kitties stop us travelling as they need baby sitters.

@try2bhelpful: Nice one. I'm sure if your house is paid off and kids grow up you will get plenty chances to fly yet.

I love camping, that can work with kids. Can get some awesome gear these days to make it bit more comfy.

@ozhunter68: No kiddies, only kitties. I have a badge that’s says “my idea of camping is when room service is late”. I’m shit scared of spiders so no camping for me.

                  • @try2bhelpful: Hahha, I love cats too. Much easier and cheaper to look after than kids.

                    • @ozhunter68: Oh yeah. Although the vet bills can add up, quickly, if they get sick. No subsidised medicine or procedures. The whining is a lot less, though. My best friend, when I’m out of the house, is my block out ear phones.

                      • @try2bhelpful: Yeah, had a few big vet bills myself, try looking after horses lol.

Was looking after someones cat ones up here in NNSW where there are many ticks ( coming from Victoria originally I was naive about ticks ), after a week or so one day the cat looked really sick and could barely walk, and I found numerous ticks embedded in it's fur.
So straight to the vet, five days later the cat just survived to my joy, but the bill was close to 1K. The owner was broke and refused to pay, and as I signed off on vet bill I copped that one lol.

I like your honest about kids, very noisy and much winging and whining, I prefer wining and dining haha.

@ozhunter68: Like your last comment, me too. I’m a big believer if you have kids you should really want them so you make the sacrifice, I was never willing to make the sacrifice. The concept of “indoor voices” seems to have been lost. Both with kids and adults. Since when is it OK to make hands free calls in public and play videos, or music, without ear phones? I think I’m one step away from “get off my lawn”.
