    Lighting deal 100% claimed

  • Could I slot this into my desk at work and then have many wired connections? Would it affect the main network in any way?

    • I would say yes but if your IT has port security enabled on the office network (which is recommended) then this won’t work.

    • I would say yes but don't.
Many in our organisations have tried this and brought down the network.
      Ask your IT

    • Most office networks for security reasons and for not overloading their networks, they would limit only 2 IP address (or less) to be handed out at each port. If you tried to plug a hub in as a extender, only the first 2 devices you powered on would work, and the rest would not be able to obtain a IP Address from DHCP.

The reason why 2 IP Addresses is 1 for IP Phone and 1 for PC.

    • Any competent network engineer would enable bpduguard on access ports. This would effectively block this switch (and shut down your port for that matter).
