Need a Powerbank for My Laptop

Hi all,

I use a ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX581GV which doesn't charge in planes which really sucks when I'm on a long flight and want to get some work done. Apparently there's powerbanks that can charge laptops, such as : https://www.auspowerbanks.com.au/product/asus-87w-pd-laptop-…

There's others, but a little worried of them not working for my laptop.

Would love to hear some suggestions on what power bank to get, what's a decent price for one and where! Was hoping to pick one up in person as I may not get it in time for travels next week.

Thanks in advance to anyone with suggestions/advice.

  • Probably get something decent on Amazon Prime very quickly. Cheaper than bricks and mortar for sure.

    That one looks pretty good.

    • This looks good, but it's not going to charge the ASUS zenbook pro duo as it's not USB C. Unless I'm missing something.

      • What's so weird about it that it won't charge on a plane?

        • charger probably draws too much power and the power outlet on the plane shuts down. Max output might be around 70W.
My sons laptop could not be charged, my tablet could.

      • Buy the one that Asus Recommends. Don't buy 3rd party crap.

Dell have their own line of power banks for all their power connectors.

  • You certainly have a serious piece of valuable hardware.

As stated above by Numlock on 12/02/2020 - 22:14, I also wouldn't mess around, talk to tech staff at ASUS about your exact requirements & have reply confirmed in writing.
Model suggests you have Thunderbolt3 USB C but for data & external display only.
8 cell battery that can charge to 50% in 15 minutes.
20 years ago our mission critical equip had second batteries.
Curious - how long does a fully charged battery last.
Would you be kind enough to post ASUS response.
