  Reading it in context - “double data” - I would interpret as you get double the data each month for the same price, and the offer lasts for 8 months.

  Just keep an eye out on the groupon deals every once in a while for the other outcome.

  Pretty sure it's the former, because the complete email states:

  Regular Price: $20 for 1 renewal (5GB)
  Double Data: $20 for 8 renewals (10GB)

  After your 8th renewal, ongoing renewal price will be as per the critical information summary for UNLIMITED 10GB.

  Therefore, if the latter is true, then what's the point of stating "for 8 renewals" since the 9th renewal will be $20 for 10GB anyways.

  I just had my plan renewed. I can confirm that you pay for the first month, and the next 7 months is free.
  It is manually configured, so you have to wait a few days after your plan renews for it to be applied.

  When you access your account and click "manage plan", you should see a purple banner stating:
  "Promotion - FREE UNLIMITED XXX GB. Valid to: XX Sep 2020".
